  1. thing is, people are so disappointed if it doesnt snow in their area, and yet if they were that bothered they only have to travel about 40 miles or so to see some very decent snow falls.maybe an inconvenience, but if your that bothered and well worth it trip IMO. Llangollen was great for slegding on sat/sunday and is only an hours drive if that from liverpool.

  2. kinda makes me laugh as people who want snow get peed off on here coz they arent gettting any and then clutch at straws and make random self forecasts up! Our area will not see anything to significant out of any of this. Some areas have done very well, particularly higher ground. Some have had a inch or two here and there particularly monday. Some have had a slight dusting from todays showers.be greateful for what you get if you like the snow but dont make random forecasts up that simply arent true

  3. some places in and around liverpl got near on four inches mate the other day.i dont expect much from this new lot like but a slight dusting is very possible, and an inch or two in favoured places.

Strange as it may seem some people on here live in such peculiar places as hilly areas. I live close to the hills and got 8inches of snow, been melting fast today though temp. up to 4C still 2-3 inches cover left though despite the thaw.

thats not strange mate, see my other post,i was just saying low lying areas in the nw wont do as well as London.low lying areas of london got 12 inches mate.that wont happen up here in low areas.

  4. mate i was generally refering to lower levels though.ive no doubt the moors done very well.what im saying is lower lying levels wont do as well as london in general.I was in st albans on monday and they had just on a foot of lying snow at low levels. That will not happen in the north west region at low levels. No doubt it may have and may d so again on the mooors hills, mountains etc

  5. An inch! Higher ground or eastern districts?

Also somebody mentioned the March 2006 event - got nothing. As I said last decent snow event would be winter 00/01 (I think) and last proper snow event Feb 96. Over the last few years there has been a few transitional snow events imedietely preceeded by rain, or a bit of snow that has practically melted instantly.

The lack of posting on this board just shows how negative things are looking i this region as far as snow prospects are concerned!!

i returned from st albans this afternoon and there is still lying snow in south liverpool. theres kids playing in the field and sledging right by mine as we speak.granted its not that deep maybe an inch or two left in some parts. Notexpecting any more now though and its nothing compared to down south where i was wellied up and roaming in over a foot in places yesterday. But to say the north west missed out is wrong, granted not as bad as down south but still got enough to enjoy in some places.

  6. Well folks,Ive just headed up to Liverpool today. Was in st albans over the weekend and they got a pasting,up to a foot and more in some places. Heading up the motorway M1 and then M6 the snow seemed to get a bit more thin on the ground.Back home now few flurries not much else.Whats our prospects for the coming days in Liverpool? I was made up yesterday though being in St albans.Went the pub all day and had some great snowball fights.they got hit hard down there. Are we due any up here? cheching the met office theres no warnings for us but plenty for down there and the east?????

  7. Hiya roady, I'm 200 yards off Queens Drive, about 2 minutes from the Rocket pub. (classed as Wavertree)

The blizzard we had recently was a sight to behold, I was off work, and about to walk to Broadgreen station to go over the water to the Wirral. I delayed my journey to marvel in the significant fall we had that day...only to trudge somewhat disappointed to the station some 30 mins later when the slush took precidence! :D

haha sound.just off the m62 then eh. yeah that was great i was so excited.then an hour later it was gone! ah well! lets hope for something a bit better this time, though im not holding my breath! :D

  8. where abouts in liverpool mate? im in aigburth. we had some decent snow almost blizzard like the week before last if i remember rightly but it melted in about an hour or two just our luck!

Im not holding my breath, though there is talk for a little snow tuesday into wednesday. Most on here will say its an easterly event mainly and im not one to argue as im a newbee too but id like to think we will get some.heres hoping!
