  1. fingers crossed (if they are not too cold) for tomorrow then.
  2. Good point, just had to go outside and look, and yes it appears to have clouded over, hard to tell from inside. still cold out, but does not feel as bitter as it did a few hours ago.
  3. Think you will find no one is sure what it will do now let alone tomorrow or in two days time. Frost appears to have gone here now.
  4. Winter Watch 2015 starts tomorrow (19th Jan) on BBC2 at 21:00 and 20:00 Tue-Thur. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p012msk2
  5. Fraid Tom and some of the regulars have moved on now. Looks like Thurs day could be potentially wintry, suspect it will be mainly sleet, but we shall see. Now it is very cold out, widespread frost, temp a while ago was closing in on the freezing point.
  6. Nippy night ahead, 1.5oC *inside* the shed, suspect closer to freezing outside now, clear and dry still will little in the way of a breeze.
  7. Still some patches of ice/frost in the shaded spots that I noticed whilst out for my afternoon walk, otherwise a wonderful sunny day with almost unbroken blue skies the gave a fantastic clear view of the sunset this evening.
  8. Think your clutching at straws for a reason as to why we have not had snow. If snow was an everyday thing then it would not generate the level of interest as it does and certainly not get headlines with phrases like "event" if it was so.
  9. divvy up the days over say the last decade, break them down by season and look at how many snow days there are in winter, hot days in summer, much of the time the weather is "normal", it's the way our weather goes.
  10. Just been out for a short walk to the shop and it is a lovely day out there, clear blue sky, sunshine and no cutting wind. Makes the prospects for another walk later even better.
  11. Yup, we have this thing called normal weather here, extremes of it are few and far apart (thankfully).
  12. no need to pray for it, these days it seems to come as standard.
  13. nice to get up in the light this morning, yes I had a bit of a lie in, but still the mornings are growing noticably lighter now as well.
  14. Nice photo, they always stand a good pose
  15. Aye, I got into weather as I do more to get a forecast to plan my work in (was a critical server farm at the time needed managing), and for personal activities outside or when to turn the heating on (storage heaters take two day's from cold to really start to work), coz at the end of the day we will get what we are given, no sense getting upset over it, better to manage your plans to fit it.
  16. Morning on the cold and damp day, very cold 0.7oC, the damp from the rain making it feel even colder, no sign (looking out at least) of a frost, it may be icy in places out there though.
  17. Looks like there has been some rain here also, all wet out again. Temp has also risen up to 2oC now, was 1.3oC a while ago.
  18. It is another chilly evening here, but suprised at the lack of frost as of yet.
