  1. Interesting subject, and one that pre-dates religion and science, the term 'ley line' is quite a modern one (1920's I think) but refers to tracks across the world that join up sites of significant importance, many of which as I said pre-date modern man, neolithic times possibly, why even in the deep distant past that animals and then humans selected sites of importance and then followed them by lines, it is history now, but science has also been trying to explain with ideas such as geo magnetic faults and electrical discharges.

It ties in with history to try and explain sites such as Stone henge or the Glastonbury Tor as two examples, and is still an enigma to this day as to why such sites were chosen, but one such theory has been some sort of connecting line, this 'ley line'

To answer the original question, yes I have known about them a long time.

Worth watching and it's brilliant that something of interest is happening when most of us will be home and able to watch it unfold (with a lie-in the next morning too. Bonus!)

However, perhaps in the spirit the inevitable non-apocalypse backlash in the "Hurricane Katie" thread in a couple of days, I'll only use the quotes from experts like Captain Shortwave that serve my purpose. Which are "Monday..a....severe storm....70mph....secondary low,.....severe."

It had better happen exactly like that Captain! :)

Pouring with rain, mild, grey and miserable.

I still wonder in complete confusion, how anybody can be a mild lover in winter. Each to their own - I get that!

But mild in winter, in this country means a day like today = Me completely baffled!

    Hi Ben

Some people have things like health reasons to not be fond of extreme cold or heat along with financial considerations etc as well a fears and frustrations of certain weather.

On a day like today I planned my walk earlier so I missed the rain and managed to fit in some shopping, will crack on with some indoor activity whilst it is damp out.

But some will always hold a firm favorite and nothing will change that.  But I cannot understand why anyone would left the weather we get given get them down because there is nothing that will change it, but if you plan with it in mind you can still keep active inside/out.

  4. Yeah.. I've always liked the short winter days and long summer days.. it's a nice contrast. I'd hate to live in a place where daylight is equal all year or barely changes at all. Would also hate to live in Australia, climate wise, where the is less seasonal variation. Too sunny and warm as well. You appreciate any warmth a lot more when you are deprived of it for a certain amount of time.. I'd get real bored of Sydney's climate.

:cc_confused:   Australia has seasonal variation, certainly in the SW of the country, they get some really wet months and some colder ones too.
