  1. I am practicly crying out for warmer weather now. I used to be such a now lover, now I run my own business it just gets in the way of work and of course play (golf). I keep checking here now everyday for the "From next week its warmer and thats the back of winter for 8 months..."
  2. Hi guys Got a BIG golf game on saturday, in South Bham, is this snow likely to thaw today and be gone by tmrw?? Sun strenght and all that?
  3. Anyone else come to this forum now looking for a sign of the cold breaking down and warmer weather ? I never thought i would see the day I felt like this, but now I want to play golf in warmer weather, i want to turn the heating down in the office to save $$! Add into this simply been fed up of been cold! Please please, big game of golf next sat in bham, let there be no snow on the ground ....
  4. whats the forcast for bham (solihull) area today with regards temperatures? Are we likely to have a slight thaw this afternoon when the front breaks up? I ask as its my bday today and had a restaurant booked for 10+ this evening, and not sure on what condition the roads will be in 5/6 hours time?
  5. The school and goto work issue is a Huge grey area, there are people who can not move in the snow but also lazy people who can and dont. We need several winters like this to start a new way of thinking with regards snow travel and coping with real winters. I heard someone comment once that britain should "pull together how it used to" and clear paths, drives and local roads as a neighbour hood and more importantly use Snow Chains! Excuse me if i am wrong, but if we all got snow chains would we not rip the clear roads to pieces??
  6. Been lurking for a while recently, enjoyed the will it wont it both short and long term. But for me the BIGGEST stand out issue this year are the official weather services and the BBC and Met office. There are people on here talking about the risk of the low bringing snow to the midlands tuesday night and wed. However even yesterday the met office front page does not even have a Be Aware warning ! This is not acceptable is it? If there are people on here talking about it and there is a risk of snow then why do the met office not treat warnings in the same vein? It seems they dont want to risk getting it wrong, and treat warnings like forcasts instead of a lose warning of snow as it should be. Using this site for weather forcasts from now on alone
  7. Personally I think this whole thing has been pathetic. Winter storm?? It was no worse than sundays snow for us. People getting on the bandwagon a little now and hyping events up to much.
  8. lol you must be like my neighbour or something  marston green here.
  9. this is who i want it to snow for, he loves it  And this is now...
  10. i was trying not to get my hopes up, but more the better. Just watched bbc news and bbc1 , always gets me how they pay little attention to the mess we could have tmrw, a passing " some lying snow, but clear skies" comment lol
  11. i am close to you in been a few miles east of solihull, was looking at the edge of the heavy and figure we have about 2 hours left heavy
  12. driving home though brum and near the nec airport the rain was a little more sleety at times, when it hit the screen had crystals in it
  13. its going to be carnage on here people reporting rain turning to snow tmrw
  14. I am guessing the more snow we get tonight will only help temps be lower tmrw for the incoming monster tmrw?
