  1. BBC WEATHER *UPDATE* Just watched the latest bbc news 24 forecast: Showers turning wintry working through the country tonight... by 5am tomorrow morning sleet showers along the south! Showers along the East tomorrow turning increasingly wintry..... Heavy Snow warning now issued on TV for Saturday across East, East Midlands and SE England, with potential across the SE of 2-5cm Saturday Daytime Weather forecaster : Nick Miller
  2. 6-10 Inches Forecast today..... Already major delays and cancelations out of Newark and JFK http://www.earthcam.com/usa/newyork/timessquare/?cam=tsone Radar: http://www.accuweather.com/radar-state.asp...ate&large=0
  3. Look what I came acoss, the weather forecast of Feb 1991 with Ian McCaskill --- One word-- AMAZING I would do anything to see a forecast like that again......
  4. I cannot beleive your Pics..... I was totally against it being snow this morning and was going for a rime frost... But looking at your Pics that would pass as SNOW for me anyday..... It looks like about 1cm and as for the third pic, that definatley isnt grains that looks like good and proper flakes to me...
  5. OK then you argue that with the Met office - there the ones who confirmed it was not snow with bbc breakfast....
  6. Freezing fog is composed of supercooled water droplets (i.e. ones which remain liquid even though the temperature is below freezing point). One of the characteristics of freezing fog is that rime - composed of feathery ice crystals - is deposited on the windward side of vertical surfaces such as lamp posts, fence posts, overhead wires, pylons and transmitting masts. Maybe alot like what has happened this morning
  7. Confirmed by Meto on TV.... What has happend is : Snow like Fragments which is Freezing fog is falling as temps rise........ Which is causing it to reach the ground and cause a Hoare Frost...... So excitement over : IT IS NOT SNOW........ Although its very pretty and makes a great winter scene
  8. Apparently... According to local news it isnt snow... They said it it Freezing fog... As the temps rise its causing the moisture to fall to the ground.... Can anyone confirm this is the case... Snow seems very unlikely
