Anyone catch the newsline special, what was it all about and any good?
-
I think summer will fire a few surprises our way this year. We are well overdue a good hot and dry month (June, July or August) and I would welcome it, I love warm weather as much as I love Winter cold and snow. Some thunderstorms too please.

Snowjon, cracking pictures. Should have gave me a shout and made it a four man trek. Warmer here at the minute, feels lovely in the sun.
-
Really don't want anymore cold! Think it's time we had a bit of warmth!
Middle of April looks promising for a Euro High or Ridging Azores. Will warm it up a good bit but wetter.
-
Mid April Euro High and Azores to dominate, cold vanishing by mid month.

I flew from Weston to Dundalk and back yesterday morning and shot some video along the way. The only snow remaining was on the Cooleys and Mournes and some far off Cavan hills. I reckon remains of that snow on the Mournes will still be there into May.
Fantastic Su Campu, is that you flying in your own wee private plane?
Fancy taking me up for a spin sometime?
Snow in my back garden yesterday 7 days after the event
That's still alot of snow. Seen the hills in Bangor are still covered too.

All the best for the future and thank you for all the great information and analysis you have shared with us all. I will personally miss grabbing a cuppa and reading your thoughts.

Locally this winter for me wasn't as good as 2010 or 1995 for laying snow. However, days of falling snow is high enough to be up there with some of the better ones and recent events memorable enough to be put swiftly in the stories to tell bank.

Couple of heavy snow showers here this afternoon. Nothing lay but intense showers.
-
A few very light snow showers here today. Would definitely settle should anything substantial pep up. Dry, powder flakes too.
-
Great pictures everyone, would love a wee dander up Craigantlet for a bit of sledging. It's a brave walk though.
Would be the first time I have seen drifts like that and it is only a few miles away.
All snow gone at my end of Bangor.
Still cold though and another risk of a similar event later this week. As ever, models firming up on positioning of the systems.
-
The snow at my own house is gone. Probably still some laying at higher end of Bangor. Didn't get a chance to sledge either. Who fancies coming to get me?

We've had all different types of records broken in the last 20 years. Warmth (winter and summer), Cold (winter and summer), Wetness (floods, etc) and droughts.
If there was an influx of cold extremities I'd persue the idea of mini ice ages/cool periods.
However, because of the warmer periods, it has 2 sides to the coin.
A period of higher variables.

I think the nearest shout I seen to where it looks like we are heading (around 3c) was a 4.7/4.8c. Le Harve did say 4.4c but changed his mind to 5.8c on the 1st of the month. When was the last time the closest call was nearly 2c out. Crazy.

Watcher can you do me a favor and delete my last 3 posts with photos please. I will rezize the photos properly then repost. Thanks
Done mate.
Was snowing here earlier whilst I was playing snooker.

is anyone having problems with their sky box?
give your dish a wee brush off if it has snow laying on it, especially the receiver box.
-
That's not Bangor is it? Very little here at all - just a dusting on the grass!
It is indeed, up at my parents house in Kilcooley. Only 57m asl. 8 inches on grass.

tried taking that living room pic out for you ms, didnt work as using phone so if you cant get it sorted before tomorrow I will fix then.
-
mountain shadow, you've got the hang of it. nice pics.
-
just got a taxi up to parents not far from me, 8 inches on grass, even a few inches on vertical walls. crazy.
-
I just think MS isn't waiting long enough for the photos to attach. If he still can't get sorted I'll message him my mobile and he can text them to me.

Oh I'm drunk enjoying this snow event. My friend had t go home early cos it's so bad. I wish I had a wee party here. Trying t get my other friends round
I'm still available for parties. Just provide with whiskey, then the fun begins.

My email is on my profile page if any of you ever need it. (chrissittlington@googlemail.com)
MS, when you hit to attach photos in your email, wait a little bit for images to upload. That's probably why they are arriving blank.
If you want to attach photos (using PC or Laptop).
Go to "More Reply Options" when adding a post,
Below the bit where you write your text you will see a box that says "Attach Files".
Hit "Browse" button and locate the file on your pc.
Click on it and hit open in the bottom right of box.
Click on "Attach this file" on netweather (just below the browse button).
Once uploaded, click the "Add to post" highlighted to the right of the picture preview that appears (very small and above the Attach files section).
Hope that helps.
Here's one I made earlier, of me.

Yes, really feel for those farmers, and I do wonder, we had a good 3-5 day warning of what was coming and they should have been warned to bring their livestock in. More needs to be done about early weather warnings for agriculture.
Hibernation Baltic? Please wake up from time to time and come and say hello.
