  1. Met office forecasting snow, heavy at times over Blencathra from mid-afternoon today, overnight and into tomorrow. There might be a half decent covering come Sunday. Hopefully one last hurrah at a height for this Spring. Windy and sunny intervals at present with a temp of 8.4c.
  2. Nature has a habit of balancing it's self. Therefore expecting a very dry summer
  3. Overnight minimum temperature of -3.6c. Blencathra with full snow cover looking magnificent against the cobalt blue skies.
  4. A fantastic day on the northern hills ... zoom in to see the mountains on my doorstep
  5. Nice little covering of snow here and all surrounding fells of Blencathra Clough Head and Great Dodd have been plastered. Overnight low of -2.4c and currently 1.1c and sunny intervals
  6. All tops covered in the northern lakes. Min temp at valley level -1.5c Plenty of sunshine at the moment. Will be a great day on the fells
  7. Snow has fallen down to the top of Scales Fell on Blencathra and to Wolf Crags on The Old Coach Road on the other side of the valley. Nice to see snow on the tops again.
  8. North lakes claggedin. Rainfall recorded during every hour since 2100 yesterday. 12.2mm so far. Temp has levelled off at 12.6c. Wind now starting to pick-up. A testing day for the visitors up for half term. In other news Ullswater Inn has opened in Glenridding.
  9. I have light snow falling and snow showers over towards Catbells and Causey Pike. Fast jets also up roaring around the valleys. Current temp 3.4c
  10. Frost this morning with overnight low of -3.4c. Snow forecast to fall over Blencathra this morning and this evening. Sunny intervals at the moment with all local hills and those towards St Johns in the vale, Newlands and Whinlatter clear. Current temp 0.3c.
  11. Shap has flooding ... St Johns in the Vale closed because of flooding ... Keswick to Lodore Hotel road closed due to flooding
  12. Overnight low of -9.9c at 06:45. Currently 2.7c under glorious sunny blue skies and everywhere still a winter wonderland. My local beck was starting to freeze over.
  13. Alpine-like scenes here despite the heavy rain yesterday evening. Below freezing since midnight. Minimum temperature of -9.7c at 08:55. Current temp -9.5c and sunny blue skies. Fresh (unfrozen) bird food and water put out for birds and red squirrels. Don't forget to keep checking on water as it will soon freeze.
  14. Heavy rain shower here. Lost about half of snow cover. Temp currently 2.6c rising slowly
  15. Snow has reinvigorated in the northern lakes heavy driving snow now. Temp -0.7c
  16. Dry overnight. Below freezing all night with minimum of -1.6c at 09:01. Low humidity meant no white surfaces. Blencathra showing a covering of snow. Currently sunny blue skies temp -0.4c noticeable breeze giving significant wind chill.
  17. Just been up The Struggle and down Kirkstone Pass towards Glenridding. Snow line was at 1300'. Temp approx 1.5c and sunny. Anybody know when and if Kirkstone Pass Inn re re-opening?.
