    Very heavy snow now falling in my part of the lake district. For years and years I sat in houses and offices in Market Harborough (Leics) and Moulton (Northants) and watched snow go to the east and west or stop short from the north or the south. You want snow? Move north with altitude.

    Dry overnight. Min temp of -5.7c. Sunny blue skies and surrounded by snow capped peaks. Perfect. Met office showing heavy snow shoers for my area later this afternoon.

    Overnight rain at valley level has given most tops in the northern lake district a covering of snow. Min temp of 2.0c. Now cloudy with odd glimpse of sun, 5.5c and breezy

    Snow is forecast (Met Office) to start falling on Blencathra during early Monday and at some point every day for the rest of the working week.

    Snow on the tops of my local hills this morning and met office forecast for 6 March showing snow symbols for my area even at low levels. Overnight low of 2.6c and sunny intervals at the moment.
