Can’t upload photos, but Tenby has taken an absolute battering... 2ft drifts in town centre... unheard of... great late walk around the snow clogged streets... once in a life time stuff.

This is becoming a generational event in Tenby.

Just possible that we're beginning to see the front fracture somewhat over Devon, as progged, with the western section going to take a more direct path to Ireland, probably clipping W Wales and the eastern section continuing to head more due N toward SE Wales... might not be reading the radar right... but something to watch.

I think E coast of Ireland will get it, just it seems to be taking a direct route across SW UK rather than skirting round us, as many of the precipitation forecasts have showed during the last couple of days.

We're 9" in drifts, 3" in sheltered areas and 0" on exposed roads and paths...

Bright echos hitting S Coast England nr Lyme Regis, should be heading Wales' way. Have to say, this is looking increasingly EPIC.

Speak for yourself, mate. We're into our 4th hour of it in Tenby: grass nearly covered; patio bare apart from a 9" drift around the edge! Wild conditions, the like of which I've never seen here before. The good news for you could be that as the low and fronts get nearer, the upper atmosphere temps will rise and (I suggest) this will make the snow less powdery, more 'normal' and more to your liking!!

Tenby also in the heavy, horizontal snow club, atm. Exceptional conditions for here; I've never seen anything like it in this location. Yep- I think it's picking energy/moisture up from Carmarthen Bay here.

Patience needed for main band to arrive. Fronts from the SE are usually slow moving (compared to those zipping through from SW-NW). The slower it’s moving, the greater possibility for prolonged snow. Looks on track, to me.

Heavy snow in Tenby. Really blowing in the strengthening wind... What’s the technical definition of a blizzard? Reckon we can’t be far off.

Doesn't look to be a problem with precipitation reaching the west, atm: that band of the heavier stuff making good progress NWwards, across Swansea and the Gower.

Main band progressing nicely... My only concern would be it splitting in two, as some of the forecasts showed and half heading up the Brecons and half heading to E coast of Ireland. Hope doesn't happen, but something to keep an eye on...

It won't be a static feature on the day; there's been an area of much higher 850s progged to move through for a couple of days now. I think that's the sector where freezing rain/ice ice is forecast (MetO have mentioned it a couple of times) as rain falls into the still below freezing lower atmosphere. Something else to look out for...

Another solid run from GFS 18z re. Thurs/Fri... suggests 24hrs snowfall for SW Wales (it won’t be, but it gives a general idea)... the sleet/rain line appears to be progged progressively further to the S on recent runs suggesting less marginal conditions along the S coast... a starting as snow and staying as snow event likely now? The Preselis are going to get an absolute battering.

Hi Jen- I'm in Pembroke by day, where we had about an hour-and-a-half of steadyish, light snow: lovely, and the second time this year! Deffo be something Thurs/Fri... just how much? I'm hoping for a classic!
