  1. Oh dear … all gone pear shaped big time … the  computer generated models have no real grasps on when the weather patterns change dramatically especially for cold incursions .. but they usual get mild Synoptics  right !!

I have decided and it has taken me a long time to twig that these long term forecasting tools are crap !

Sounds like there's already some concern about Hadley cell influence, imagine the absolute backlash if yet another cold spell got massively downgraded.

I have read JH note this morning and viewed a number of other posts form pro- Met folk

so pleased that is very unlikely we will a have a severe cold spell.. many people need to dry out so that last thing we need is another bad weather event. Our heating bills are shockingly high as it is

so no backlash from me ! Anyway predicting snowy weather on 200 plus GFS charts is very niave but still it happens !

  3. I was very disappointed to see  that the MAD thread  is so occupied chasing frigid  air .. that   no one  flagged up the windstorm over the south today (they did on another thread so big well done to them) surely that's what the thread is for discussing the weather in all its guises and not just cold solutions

Maybe Netweather should have a separate thread ..called 'chasing cold 10-15 days away starring perb 20!

I believe we are facing a period of anticyclone gloom so when this becomes apparent to the cold zealots I will take a break

  4. Delighted we are having some mild air coming at the weekend  our  country has enough tough issues  too face without a cold prolonged spell  ..I have to  say I have a real issue with the cold Zealots in the MAD forum ,,when I joined here my interest was in the weather in all its form .. we have now been hijacked by cold  and snow at all cost nutters .... maybe they should have there own thread so the rest of us can discuss the weather without there their  insane bias ........

Starting to pay attention now to high res outputs, and already we have a possibility of a cheeky little channel low that’s popped up on the runs out of nowhere! This could be quite a snowmaker for London, Sussex, Kent etc!

Could contain: Plot, Chart, Map, Atlas, Diagram

Yes this has prompted the MO low key  yellow warning for Sunday  ..fair play to GFS 18z   for spotting this feature on Tuesday

  7. Now the Met Office called  the RED warning   ....I refused to drive my Son  too  work this morning ,when  he phoned his boss too explain about the RED warning and how dangerous it might be  to travel he  did not get much empathy!....stay safe not sorry ..I lived through the 87 storm and because it hit during the night the loss off life was kept low ,,,,,this is during the day so I pray there are no terrible incidents
