  1. Oh dear … all gone pear shaped big time … the computer generated models have no real grasps on when the weather patterns change dramatically especially for cold incursions .. but they usual get mild Synoptics right !! I have decided and it has taken me a long time to twig that these long term forecasting tools are crap !
  2. Oh Dear massive slashing of the wrists on the Madder then ever thread .. the biggest Netweather sulk ever !! .. it’s pathetic .. the weather looks damn interesting next week so let’s enjoy how it unravels …
  3. Oh my the MAD thread have a met term ‘bone dry ‘ only mentioned 17 times today ! Even Nick has chucked in his towel I will stick with the Pro’s
  4. I have read JH note this morning and viewed a number of other posts form pro- Met folk so pleased that is very unlikely we will a have a severe cold spell.. many people need to dry out so that last thing we need is another bad weather event. Our heating bills are shockingly high as it is so no backlash from me ! Anyway predicting snowy weather on 200 plus GFS charts is very niave but still it happens !
  5. I was very disappointed to see that the MAD thread is so occupied chasing frigid air .. that no one flagged up the windstorm over the south today (they did on another thread so big well done to them) surely that's what the thread is for discussing the weather in all its guises and not just cold solutions Maybe Netweather should have a separate thread ..called 'chasing cold 10-15 days away starring perb 20! I believe we are facing a period of anticyclone gloom so when this becomes apparent to the cold zealots I will take a break
  6. Oh my !mass mass slashing of wrists on the MAD thread as the threat of a cold snap has gone it seems .a push of SW mild mush coming our way ...my own thoughts are you we can really do without a prolonged cold spell.. our energy bills are on par with having a bloody mortgage but I would like some winter sunshine to cheers us all up
  7. Looks like some big rains and lots of interesting weather coming in over the next 5 days … clearly not worth much of a mention on the MAD thread …
  8. Delighted we are having some mild air coming at the weekend our country has enough tough issues too face without a cold prolonged spell ..I have to say I have a real issue with the cold Zealots in the MAD forum ,,when I joined here my interest was in the weather in all its form .. we have now been hijacked by cold and snow at all cost nutters .... maybe they should have there own thread so the rest of us can discuss the weather without there their insane bias ........
  9. Yes this has prompted the MO low key yellow warning for Sunday ..fair play to GFS 18z for spotting this feature on Tuesday
  10. The Met office weather warning for the SE on Sunday /Monday includes <small chance> at least 4 times ..is this the ultimate in back covering
  11. Lots of moaning in the moan thread tonight .... and to make it worse it seems that that pesky low approaching next week is heading bang in into Northern France for a major dump and if they beat us in the Footie ..even I will have a moan...but at least its dry!!
  12. Well the GFS18Z now develops a trough feature over SE England for this Sunday morning ..and its snow!..howzatt !
  13. Well the words ..looking very dry ..are now banned from the MAD thread..I did just see a map of NW Europe covered in snow but you guessed it ..the uk is bald..ish
  14. I agree I tend to follow the Pro's such as Catacal, JH Matt Hugo .I really like Brian Gaze on the TWO weather forum .....none of them now seem to back much severe weather next week ..the cold is not intense enough to defeat 14c mild mixing air coming up from the sw ,,,but I have enjoyed the ride
  15. oh no another MAD day .... looks like the mild push from the SW wins the day next week .... the toys are in orbit
  16. Yes the BBC forecast for next week is bang average I do believe young Tom enjoyed shooting down any talk of a cold spell ..latest ECM has poured a mild mix into the south for sure... Scotland to have all the fun ..The MAD thread is melting down if you excuse the pun!
  17. A wonderful ancient huge yew tree just blown down and missed the house by inches in Godstone Surrey...terrible sight
  18. Good post ....several fence panels already smashed ...trees are really being rocked .... so glad I and my family stayed home today Can the 'what storm' brigade please save it for later
  19. Agree ....Can the damp squib brigade give it a rest .....its tedious as my son now wants me to drive him too work as he is reading all this 'what storm 'bullocks ...let it play out ...then you can moan
  20. Now the Met Office called the RED warning ....I refused to drive my Son too work this morning ,when he phoned his boss too explain about the RED warning and how dangerous it might be to travel he did not get much empathy!....stay safe not sorry ..I lived through the 87 storm and because it hit during the night the loss off life was kept low ,,,,,this is during the day so I pray there are no terrible incidents
  21. Oh my ! on the Maddest of forums they are still flogging the dead Christmas horse and giving CPR to a cold spell that has been dead in the water for 36 hours …
  22. Agree ...they have lost the plot big time in the MAD thread ,,in all my time on this forum I have never seen so many dead horses flogged and such unrealistic claims ........its now clear we are not having severe cold spell and we are back to good old climatology ...the 10 day out hunt for coldaphilia has began in earnest ....
  23. Never mind Thunder and lightening ..the rain is biblical here in Godstone ... lots of local flooding .. newsworthy stuff!!
  24. My gosh just come off the M25 at Godstone .... biblical rain and widespread local flooding .. now becoming a news event .. be careful if you need to venture out
