  1. All the Nottingham people coming out and saying it's rubbish - they'd be right. It's been grim here all day. HOWEVER. I can see some dandruff like things falling outside. Maybe, just maybe, there is hope before the sun goes down.
  2. You sure? Maybe over the hilly bits in the north, but we'll be lucky to say we've got 1cm here...
  3. I know, it's the worst luck in the world! But it's probably for the best I'm up here, otherwise coming back up to uni for my exams might have been an effort with a foot or more of snow around Dorset.
  4. Oh yes, I've noticed. Given the warning is for where I live back home... And in Nottingham, nought. Just bits of dandruff. Horrendous luck.
  5. You don't know the half of it! Not only is there bog all snow here, but back home (where it never snows) has a Very Heavy Snowfall warning for accumulations overnight of 15-30cm, maybe even 40cm. I'm not happy...
  6. When we're saying light snow, we really mean light snow! It is almost non-existant!
  7. This is up there with some of the most pathetic snow I've seen! But there's a fair bit of it!
  8. Woah...which part of the citteh are you in? I've noticed it cloud over, but we've not had any snow come back down yet in NG7...
  9. Gah! I'm still not in the mood for this! If Dorset, my home county, gets more snow than Nottingham, I'm going to go slightly madder than I already am!
  10. AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! You see where that 33 is on that map? That's where I live. East Dorset. And bugger me, what happens, I'm not there. No, I'm in Nottingham (NG7 for those who want to know), where it would normally snow a damn sight more. I'm wondering if I've made the right decision in coming up north for snow. If people back home get much more now than I do, I will be seriously unhappy. Jon. Currently in NG7, permanently BH31.
  11. I've just watched the South Today forecast (watched the one on EMT on TV earlier) and it's very much a case of what I could have won. 20cm accumulations over Dorset? WHY NOW? OK, it's not looking too bad for Nottingham, but I could have stayed home. And got snowed in. This is even worse than a Nottingham sized hairdryer...or Andy's quiche...
  12. Don't remind me that I'm not there... :drinks:
  13. I believe it's similar - 4mm is anywhere between 2 to 4cm of snow. So that'll work out at about 1 to 2 inches!
  14. I've alluded to this on the Midlands thread, but I'm more worried by the violent theft being committed by the mercury!
  15. That damn mercury! I knew there was a lot of looting going around, I think we have a culprit. Maybe it's like a pirate looking for some bounty...
  16. The City of Nottingham is covered! Bad luck, lads!
  17. I had my test 2 years ago yesterday, and was myself worried about it being cancelled! If I'd have had it further north, it may well have been! There were a few flakes falling in Bournemouth in the lesson before the test, but fortunately, nothing significant and I passed!
  18. It's all gone quiet in here...has everyone been at Andy's quiche or something? :cold: To make this weather related, I've just stuck my hand out of the window and it's cold outside. I can't be of more help, my weather station went on the blink a couple of years back and I never fixed it...
  19. I knew the quiche repeated on him, so why's he repeating on the quiche? Must be Andy's lust for revenge... Ahhh, the good old Quichegate saga!
  20. Sorry, not a quiche fan! You have as much as you like! Go on, knock yourself out!
  21. Sounds like what I had before leaving Nottingham for the hols in December, we had a sickness bug going round here. Threw up 3 times in the morning (once after just standing up). Didn't eat for 12 hours. Trick is to sip water slowly more than anything, and if you do want to eat, make sure it's carbohydrate based, like rice, pasta or, as I suggested earlier, dry toast. Another left field choice is flat Coke. Full sugar. Again, you'd have to sip slowly, but it is supposed to be a stomach settler.
  22. Shut up you! The snow showers in the North Sea are only heading either north of us (i.e. Grimsby - I suppose they need some consolation as the football team can't buy a win - heading in the direction of Chesterfield) or south of us (i.e. Skegness, heading towards Leicester). Rubbish.
  23. I miss the South West thread...can you send me some Winkleigh (OK, that's Devon), some Thatchers (the rough stuff) and some Somerset Cider Brandy? I miss it...
