Cold rain as well is the worst! so depressing working outside in that!
current temperature here is 3.3c which although cold is far from cold enough for snow
2.9C here but the DP is 1.8C.
All looking rather awful. Still least we now know that spring and therefore summer is on the way

Well interesting you should say that, there is a warning of ice from heavy band of showers moving through from around mid night with rain/sleet and "hill" snow so I think we could get a few surprises around by morning as long as it doesnt die a death like this mornings ppn. Also i would have thought it is more likely to fall as snow away from coasts as it will be in early hours?

I wonder if they could be anymore vague when they talk about 'snow over high ground' or 'hill snow'
Well, all the higher 'hills' were white this morning around here, whereas we just had a very thin dusting. So, I can only assume the snow level has risen now we have entered the back end of winter.

By not personifying an inanimate object?
I read somewhere that with above average snow cover across the NH and el Nino persisting through the summer, the surface albedo would be greater than normal. So perhaps it won't be all doom an gloom.
Although, I'm pretty confident I won't lose any sleep over it. Not just yet.

0.1C here with a DP of -2.1C so nothing marginal at the moment, although there is precious little cloud around.
Is there anything due tonight or tomorrow?

Rain would suck. Dartmoor is already sodden from the rain last year and the snow this year... as borne out in the swollen rivers this week flowing off the moor.

I seriously want to know what it is with the M4, everything is always "north of the M4" even the glaciers stopped roughly there in the last ice-age.
Someone was on to something when they built that. In more sense than one.

It felt ok in the sun today, but at home the max was only 2.9C. NW homepage says its currently 6C and raining.

Snow overnight left a covering here and quite a bit more further up, no more snow since about 9am though and now the sun is out.
Very cold last night, down to -5.6C which means the ground is frozen yet again.
Wheres my Spanish plume?!

I doubt we'll see much in the way of 'disruptive' snow, but we shall see. Always hopefull

Had some snow earlier which left the lightest of dustings which has now frozen with the temp dipping below -3C

I then hope we get a massive warm up as we approach March and through the summer.
(Just so the the AGWers can say its due to CO2, in the same way its cold due to to CO2 and so on and so forth - least it would make more sense

Had it all today, bar the rain. Snow, hail and warm sunshine. Can't complain really. Nothing settled for any length of time at this height, but places a little higher seemed to get some.

The sun is lovely today, it finally has some warmth in it!
There are some beefy snow showers around though, and in the wind the warmth from the sun might as well be coming from the freezer.

It's a lovely day here, positively spring like, if I can find my sunglasses then I may even venture outdoors.
We didn't see any snow at all yesterday, just a lot of rain.
Sun is back out here, but after that last snow the level of settled snow is just 50feet above me. (I can see the line just up the hill) :unsure: So its getting there!
Yes, lots of rain down at work yesterday, but snow up here. Bored of winter now!

Just put up a map with snow, wind, rain, and sun on it say, say it could snow, might rain, will possibly be windy and some areas will have sunshine. Easy innit!

Hard frost last night, and frequent snow showers but it settles and then stops and the sun is quite warm when its out.
Whats all this for the weekend/next week?! The road I use to get to work is still closed due to the landslide from yesterday. So I'm working from home...

Cashy, had heavy snow this morning when I left for work, intense rain at work and then back home this afternoon, light, powdery snow but nothing since about 5pm (just thick fog) Nothing settled either.
Is it ever going to warm up?
