  1. WYorksWeather Absolutely. At least the disgusting winter of 13/14 was interesting in how stormy it was.
  2. Looking on course for yet another 100mm month around here. It's just relentless, it's extraordinary. Anyone who insists our climate has not changed needs to look out of the window once in a while.
  3. Good god there is no end in sight to the misery. GFS is utterly, utterly grim. I'm so glad I've got a holiday somewhere hot in mid-April.
  4. Lovely couple of days for many of us in the south and east. Enjoy before perpetual Autumn returns.
  5. SunnyG Although it was a bit disappointing in London, it was widely 16-17C elsewhere. I would class that is pretty warm for mid-March.
  6. 78/79 The rest of us will put our clocks forward on the 31st I really hope we don't end up with another "year without a spring" like we endured last year. It's even more of a depressing thought considering how grim winter has been. At least we had an outstanding first month of summer on the back of it last year.
  7. Genuinely got some leaves coming out on a couple of trees here. I have never seen it this early before. Certainly a year without a winter down here. Also saw my first bumblebee of the year although that's not quite so unusual in mid-Feb.
  8. reef "But at least it's mild" Haven't had one opportunity to get the chimenea out and have a fire this winter. It's either been too wet or too windy. And it's barely been cold enough to even properly enjoy it.
  9. I didn't think a "winter" could be as repugnant and depressing as 2013/14, but here we are. Just want spring now.
  10. No no no no no. The naming system for storms is an absolute shambles and completely unnecessary as it is. Most normal summers you only get two or three hot spells that may warrant it. Are we really going to have an A-Z naming system for something that can only occur in a 3-4 month window? At least with storms they can occur year-round and are far more frequent in winter than genuine heatwaves are in summer.
  11. Absolute joke from the Met Office. Another red warning issued in the dead of night for an event that was already happening.
  12. That masks a couple of extremely dry months too. Feb and June barely saw a drop. Just another example that regular periods of rainfall are a thing of the past in our changed climate. Either drought or deluge.
  13. That's astonishing. Never mind cold, I just want some sun.
  14. Looking likely we'll be on for our third consecutive 100mm+ month around these parts. I am not someone who suffers from SAD, but the last couple of months have been seriously trying. Utterly miserable run-up to Christmas and any hope of a brief cold and frosty spell looks to have been extinguished. Really regretting not booking a winter holiday this year.
  15. I know Paul so have refrained from commenting on TORRO's page. But that's not helping the confusion, really.
