  1. Are you saying that it has not happened so far then,VP? Well, they could have fooled me - but they didn't .
  2. If,and when it punches thru' the knot of other year-lines,do you think it'll be on the BBC news at whenever, with pictures of rejoicing polar bears replete with champagne, having a knees-up?
  3. I'm looking at this page almost goggle-eyed with the 'warming' related nonsense before me. I really need to get out of this asylum PDQ. Anyway,I've been saying for ages that the term 'denier' is far more apt for the AGW fraternity. Why.....? http://www.climatech...the-deniers-now Keep the character assassination of the author to yourselves - I've heard it all before, and it's as boring and as hollow as the case for CO2-inspired AGW. And besides, the guy is right.
  4. Seems to be on the mend again http://ocean.dmi.dk/...icecover.uk.php But note the statement in red below the chart.... sorry if it's been mentioned before - been going on for a while and the problem is ongoing,it seems.
  5. I think it's 'to do' with worrying about the world they will grow up in,what with climate change and all that. Of course,it worries me not one jot,the climate change bit I mean. I have a kid who's just approaching the age when he'll start asking questions about the big, wide world. I've already told him that the moment his teacher utters AGW,that he's to tell me right away so's I can have words. Poisoning young, impressionable minds like that - disgraceful. I've no problem with,in fact positively encourage environmental awareness, sustainability etc,etc within school. It's how he's brought up at home, too. I will not be best pleased when he comes home with a very carefully selected photo of Greenland ice (keeping this on topic,J!),and telling me that his teacher says that we are causing it to melt unnaturally blah blah and we'll all die in a tsunami of meltwater. Because it is all utterly wrong - factually and morally.
  6. There's a world of difference between a touch of ground frost here and there and record breaking, persistent cold across half a continent....... and in these days of warming,at that!
  7. You're absolutely right,YBY! Whatever's going down in Greenland, the Arctic, wherever,is used as a lever to achieve... well, anything. And nothing untoward is actually happening, and certainly nothing that we earthly microbes have any kind of sway over wrt CO2. Just got to say I like,no I really like the picture underneath your username,Higrade!
  8. How did the USA fare in these times of warming during October? Yes,it's 'only' the US but record cold of any kind should be 'difficult' in an allegedly warmer-than-ever world, let alone cold like this... http://www.ncdc.noaa...onth=10&ext=gif Dev,you're confusing C-Bob with me - something I'm flattered by but I'm sure he wouldn't feel the same .
  9. More warmist nonsense, effortlessly deflated once again by WUWT and it's contributors! http://wattsupwithth...ather-stations/
  10. Now that's a good idea. Humulus Lupulus has relatives in the highest places !
  11. Being a keen brewer of beer and wine,I was pondering the quantity of CO2 generated by the fermentation of sugar (glucose, specifically). Just from my own observations of fermentation in action I know it's a lot (whatever that means!). For every molecule of ethanol produced, there's a molecule of CO2. http://en.wikipedia....tion_of_glucose How many millions of gallons of alcoholic beverage is produced everyday? How many thousands of tonnes of CO2? Anyone care to investigate and work it out? I can't be bothered, and most likely don't have the wherewithall, frankly - a raging tooth abscess and the resultant 36 hours sans kip puts you in that frame of mind. Roll on 2pm for my appointment with fear. Anyways, will beer, wine and spirits be next on the 'hit-list' so's we can cut emissions? Gray Wolf,if you're serious about saving the planet you'd best give the G****** a rest,my friend! Me,I'm looking to step up production - the lunacy of the AGW sham is enough to drive anyone to drink . Incredibly,I'd overlooked the CO2 from bread production! That'll be the next phase, beer 'n' bread 'n' stuff with their 'carbon footprint' listed. Don't tell me we already have?! *Sigh*,etc.
  12. Yes,delighted....not. I expect those who believe in/promote the great global warming climate change scam will be ecstatic. They should be - they've been begging for it long enough.
  13. Yes,looks that way! If this lot came lecturing me about carbon footprints etc I wouldn't hear a word, but I dare say they'd have my undivided attention ! http://www.telegraph...t.html?image=10
  14. No problem,Pete. I was in 'ranter' mode ! This is hilarious, and has more than a ring of truth! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1225577/RICHARD-LITTLEJOHN-When-twin-religions-global-warming-shopping-collide-.html
  15. 'Would' is the key word in my sentence to which you refer,Pete! Other than that, you know I'm right, right??
  16. It's like the guy at the centre of the drugs v alcohol/tobacco row - say what your masters don't want to hear and you're in trouble. Imagine if the concensus (ha ha,that's a good one) stated that our paltry emissions actually had zero effect, and that from a climate perspective we could chuck as much as the stuff into the air as we liked? Now wouldn't that chuck a spanner in the 'works'? Seriously,in the face of undeniable global cooling would we be encouraged to do just that to try to halt the slide? 150 years of steadily climbing emissions and... nothing's 'happened' that anyone can say with any kind of authority and confidence that's out of the ordinary in the scheme of things, and that's assuming that the figures are accurate - something which no-one can agree upon. Huge reasons to cut emissions (and therefore consumption),but the supposed implications for and the involvement of climate in the whole mess makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time. No,really.
  17. Um,I thought the MWP already had disappeared off a certain 'hockeystick'?
  18. Oh I try my best,on both counts. Really I do. Not being the rampant consumerist that us 'deniers' are often portrayed as being, our telly is about 14 years old - one of those with the huge cathode ray tube that takes up a corner of the room. No signs of it's imminent demise yet,but when there is it'll go out in a blaze of glory when more CO2 crap catches me at the wrong moment. Boy I've been waiting long enough. Don't think I'll replace it either - it can turn minds,y'know.
  19. Ouch! You're right of course, but I bet they'd be much better company when they did turn up .
  20. If a grown man turned up on a pushbike like that,I'd sack him on the spot! Wonder if there's any 'career opportunities' at Greenpeace for him?
  21. So,how many days left now 'til the hammer comes down? I can't be in the least bit bothered to go back and work it out. But here we are on the 3rd of November and in a little while London will be lit up for Xmas,a scene to be repeated thousands of times across the land in due course. While all those happy-faced youngsters bathe in the seasonal glow, they can look forward to going home to see the adverts which tell them that what their government and councils have just treated them to is in fact, going to bring about the end of the world. Whatever you do with any electrical gifts you receive for Xmas, don't plug them in. I'm utterly, absolutely, completely and totally sick to death of the CO2 scam.
  22. Very good,C-Bob! Perhaps it was the CO2 emissions from said fascination which generated the 'mega El Nino' mentioned in the article? (Joke,if anyone doesn't get it).Something which today's AGW proponents would like to have us believe. Nothing new under the sun, etc.
  23. One more time and with feeling " it's the sun what did it" . Question now is,what's the sun going to do (or not),next? Never mind, regulating the global CO2 'allowance' will put him in his place.
  24. Um,go on then,enlighten me Mr.M! I'm clearly missing something unless you're referring to,er,no I won't!
  25. I'm not going to get involved in an argument about climate change and the virtues or otherwise of an omnivorous diet, but I've recently developed an addiction to... broccoli, grapefruit and black grapes!! No idea why, never been much of a fruit and veg fan. Hope I'm not pregnant, you never know, what with all the hormones and stuff that's supposed to get into the water supply! Seriously tho' (climate change apart) I'd have no problem being a veggie if 'I had to'. Anyways, you might have read elsewhere that I've been brewing today. Job done, and there's no waste - 5Kg of spent grain and 100g of spent hops added to my compost heap! LG not green? Pah!
