  1. Incredible scenes from a snow shower just now in Garforth. Massive flakes! 20210411_190057.mp4 20210411_185711.mp4 20210411_190057.mp4
  2. After the wet snow at 4am, we avoided all the showers by a matter of a few miles during daylight hours. However, it's now snowing again, although the heaviest echos look to be just south, maybe Castleford area?
  3. I'm currently in a nice gap so it's a glorious sunny day, however there are signs that we might be in the convergence zone here again, will have to keep an eye on the washing!
  4. Have been kept awake most of the night with a headache and, for the past 3 hours, pounding rain on the conservatory roof. Checked radar to see what had become of the cold frosty night and it seems I have been under the slowest moving shower in history. Turned to sleet then snow in the final half hour but would have given a right dumping if I was higher up I reckon! Radar from 01:35 to 04:05 20210410_041200.mp4
  5. Another bullseye! Not sure what's gone wrong here but that was the best one of the day for Garforth and has left a half decent covering on the ground. Radar says sleet, I don't think so! 20210406_170451.mp4
  6. Another hit! Proper snow this time with a dusting. Flakes still falling even though the shower is long gone. 20210406_160739.mp4
  7. Managed to hit a gap in the big shower that came through Leeds and Bradford so just got some polystyrene! Seems to be the way of it here with showers this winter! Did better with the frontal snow in January.
  8. Oh dear a pretty poor effort IMBY, there were a couple of flakes dusting the top of the wheelie bin from the 5am flurry and that's it. The most surprising thing for me is that we have gone from 20 degrees on Wednesday to the icy cold today without any measurable rain, would have expected a squally cold front with such a change in temperature. I just want the warmth back now!
  9. All the forecasts I have seen are emphasising snow showers mainly near coasts... Surely we are late enough in the year that there should be plenty of inland convection, no? I mean, isn't that why "April Showers" is a thing? I'll be outraged if we have to lose that glorious barbecue weather for the sake of some overnight frosts and no snow!
  10. Ahead of tonight's alarming weather Stateside, does anyone have any links to news channels in Mississippi or Alabama that we can watch live over here? Cheers
  11. Slight increase in intensity has got the rabbits more interested but it's now eased right off again! 20210212_141712.mp4
  12. Yeah they're both vaccinated against that and RHD/RHD2 so should be fine. They're only out because I'm cleaning their winter home (the conservatory!) In more weather related news, still flurrying but small flakes now.
  13. Had a flurry a bit ago might be another one incoming, but all in all this spell has been a disappointment IMBY and the final insult is no snowy breakdown before the mild arrives
  14. Drove through that near Tingley on the way home from work about 2pm,was extremely heavy. Meanwhile the 2 halves of our back garden summing up the cold spell in our region. Good for some, poor for others!
  15. Another bullseye hit but only a ten minute shower again. I bet its amazing further east where they're bigger! Huge variations in the garden, that last shower almost covered the melted bits of grass, in the half that doesn't get sun its gotta be 3-5cm now. Shame we can't get those depths throughout! 20210209_190912.mp4
  16. I'm downwind of Pocklington but all the showers, despite hitting dead on, seem to be dying down until just after they pass me, and then blowing up as they head towards south Leeds/Kirklees! There's another one incoming, hopefully it will suprise me as every flake is sticking now the sun is down.
  17. Had a fair few showers today whilst at work which looked lovely at their peaks, but never lasted long enough to stop the gradual thaw of last night's showers. Garden now has an inch where the sun hasn't got to it and just patches of 1cm where it has. Although that is an improvement on this time yesterday. Radar looks decent upwind near to Bridlington, but need the showers to hold together as they approach.
