  1. Around 4 inches here on flat surfaces. Nothing in comparison to some in South Yorkshire but better than I thought we would get yesterday evening! All local schools closed and lots of issues on roads.
  2. Looking on Google maps round Huddersfield shows a lot of orange/red roads indicating slow, stuck traffic especially on inclines near Lepton/Grange Moor. A lot of the grit will have been washed away earlier so roads will be treacherous.
  3. Lucky you! Hope we get to those levels! We had pitiful amounts with just a slushy mess despite snow all day.
  4. Radar starting to look very interesting. Met office still seem bullish with their 10-20cm widely im the amber forecast based on recent social media postings so fingers crossed!
  5. Very light snow, but starting to cover all surfaces including the roads and pavements. First time this has happened today.
  6. Very poor here today. Continual snow but barely anything settling, just a horrible slushy, wet mess. Not at all hopeful for tonight, although sledge dusted off for kids just in case we miraculously get a covering!
  7. Heavy snow here for past hour or so covering everything including roads with around an inch of thick, fluffy, sticky snow. Not expecting anything so a real bonus today!
  8. Non stop torrential rain here! Everything flooded, drains over flowing and constant thunder. I'm under the heaviest rainfall on the radar. Crazy!
  9. Heavy persistent rain here, grey skies and the odd clap of thunder. Quite cool outside now compared to this morning.
  10. Steady, moderate snow has brought a very thin covering to all surfaces. Still keeping expectations very low for later.
  11. Very light snow here now. The shower tracked from Filey originally so that's where my focus on the radar will be!
  12. The showers between Scarborough and Bridlington are heavy and look to be heading towards West Yorkshire. Hopefully they maintain their intensity! Just a light covering of ice pellets here this morning so far.
  13. If you want to know what showers will hit Leeds-ish area then you need to look at Flamborough Head. Currently it's in a dry spot but the gaps are closing. Hopefully a couple of hours and snow will be falling in West Yorkshire!
  14. Unfortunately all the heavy snow from last night has melted. Tiny bits of dandruff blowing around in the wind. Radar looks promising for later.
  15. Really coming down now, cars and grass starting to cover over. Intensity seems to increase as the showers reach the m1 near Wakefield.
  16. Snowing here now. It seems to have intensified in front of the "dragon" as per these radar snap shots.
  17. Definate change to a wintry mix here. Wind also picked up and feels bitter. Another hour or so and I imagine it will be all snow.
