  1. What a slow tranisition it is for anything summer-like according to most folk. Well my take on it is that the GFS ensembles (they're not everything I know) suggest a definite rise in air pressure, temperatures and sunshine levels. IMHO the key date is the 1st August and it's associated new moon. When that time period enters the fray, we could be onto something about the rest of summer's hopes?

      Yes good summary, looking like turning drier after wednesday with a rise of pressure as you say, pretty cool 850's aloft but will translate to warm condiitons at the surface if sunny, 850's then rise into next week and still dry
