It was not a cold water hurricane however the formation of a major in 25C SSTs is unusually cool

Potentially fake news then, Daniel or at least not enough adequate fact-checking going on.

It’s sad the internet is saturated with fake news!

  1. Steady as she goes, we might get 2mm of rain this month at this rate. More dry weather and potentially milder too, come the beginning of May. Temperature heading into single figures now in Newbury, been on the fall broadly speaking since 12:30.

I thought the 6mm I've had here was low. :shok:

  2. Thunder in Newbury, oooeer.

  3. Impressed by the deep cold over us today, only just breached freezing point in Newbury, 0.1c and hovered around those sort of Temperatures all day long. Changeover day tomorrow perhaps? A day later than I expected a week ago.

Good gawd, yes. I'm inside in the warm, Thankfully. Even the odd snow flurry possible in places I understand.

    3. Mapantz

      Mapantz

Temps here, are higher than they were two days ago. I was under fog for nearly 72 hours though.

  4. First named storm incoming and it's set hit the South and Southeast tonight. As to what is it called, I don't know?

What gets me is that when you read the text in the warnings, it doesn't match their forecasts. That's poor.

      For the yellow warning zone:

"Gusts of 45-55 mph are likely inland and 60-65 mph near the coast"

I am 5 - 6 miles from the coast, as the crow flies. The top gust shown on their map and forecast is 41mph.

      Where's the consistency?

Pass Mapantz, I never worry much over the specifics, I take note of the guys n gals in here and listen to the BBC forecasts over online short-term forecasts and/or warnings.

      Evening thunder

I think the maps are generally updated automatically from a certain model output, but the warnings are aware it could be stronger and/or slightly further north than that as perhaps some of the higher resolution models hint at

  5. The first third of November is complete. I'm currently sitting at a mean of 2.4c below average. The next four to five days will see this well-below mean take an upward path, but come the 16th I believe we'll see signs of being back on track with my predictions.

"I'm plumping for a most unseasonal November, how about you? A CET of 4c to 5c below normal, largely dry once again but with lots of snow up North and also further East at times. Another record breaker!"

  7. High hopes of an ICE day in Newbury, -1.1c as I type this. Don't get many of them, these days so most pleasing.

  8. Blimey, the sun is out for the first time in December, well at least it feels that way, can't be sure. Temps set to rocket up to 16c/17c in the odd place, odd definitely being the appropriate word.

  9. I'm in like Flynn, loving this new feel to things and I clearly ain't talking about the November weather in December. :diablo: Well done to all involved.

Too busy with life lately so high time for some forum time.

  17. Humidity already on the rise here as the sun is out, 82% right now. A warm start to the working week and getting hotter by both day and night with an increasing risk of isolated Thunderstorms from Wednesday onwards. Not everywhere gets the heat but most will certainly notice it and I'm preparing myself for it as best I can, take care all.

  18. A question for today. How regularly does anyone like to pursue the art of using reverse psychology when posting comments to online discussion forums, I think a few do it regularly?

Weather pattern quotas are worse, Gotto. "Best to get this wet weather outta the way now...". That's the mind running some odd software.

  22. Bye Bye January 9th's record, beautiful clear blue skies here and warming up quickly.

  23. Sun trying its hardest to poke through the clouds here, can't possibly beat the warmest day of the year, January 9th yet though but shouldn't be long.
