  1. Oh dear a very wet and at times stormy GFS 12Z with constant atlantic systems revving into gear and crossing us, funny how as soon as spring is here the atlantic wakes up after a quiet winter. Not much pleasant about GFS 12Z thats for sure unless mild at any cost suits you, not that it is looking that mild all the time anyway. Localised flooding could become an issue if GGS 12Z is right.
  2. So in other words bottesford you don't mind how awful the weather is if it's mild but if it's cold it doesn't matter how good the weather is Overcast and wet here.
  3. Mixed week ahead with fronts passing through from time to time and sunnier days with chilly nights, nothing warm or that cold but the runs are trending colder for late week onwards with a southerly tracking jet and pressure building to our northwest, April could start rather cold.
  4. Was out walking in the countryside this morning and even with the sun out it never felt uncomfortable actually felt quite chilly in that breeze before the milder dewpoints pushed south this afternoon, its amazing how quickly you acclimatise to mild weather as even with temps of 12C this afternoon if you are sat still it feels chilly Actually this may sound weird but the sun feels stronger when in built up town areas maybe something to do with concrete absorbing the suns heat but in wide open fields in the countryside its feels alot cooler.
  5. Not much of interest for both camps for next week though with some PM air it will feel chilly, some interest in FI though for the coldies, maybe April will deliver the goods for them with the jet diving southeastwards and pressure building out to the north and west. http://www.wetterzen...s/Rtavn2641.png
  6. Well after all the rain in February the countryside needed a good drying out, excellent walking conditions and this morning was glorious with a cool breeze and lots of sunshine, gone downhill now though with overcast dulll cr*p.
  7. We are still in with the chance of a slightly below average month or near average, you can't get really cold months every month, that would be strange if we did.
  8. Don't mind him CC, he was like that throughout the winter how the cold never came off but we managed a very cold winter in stats. Nothing warm or settled for the warmies either, looks unsettled with temps average to slightly above average after saturday, not sure why hes so smug about that, pretty funny last night watching Europa League in London on TV and lots of people still out in scarfs and gloves, winter is still here according to lots of football fans
  9. I already get the feeling Spring 2010 will be very frustrating for some, not cold enough for snow but also not warm or sunny enough for others.
  10. Pressure rise to our south, not good news for the coldies. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn1261.png
  11. The point is if you want winters anywhere as good as the winter just gone its best you move to northern scotland where they are much more likely, i`m afraid winters as cold as 2009/10 for the UK as a whole come along very infrequently. I wouldnt mind some colder weather either i like all types but to want it because you didnt get enough in the past winter is being spoilt, how many winters fail to record milder nights than 5C since mid Dec, cant recall of any offhand apart from 1 in 300 year events like 1962/63. Looks like going back to normal temp next week wise but still unsettled no potent cold spell just yet
  12. Looks like staying above average for the next week, just like with the cold weather in the winter dominating any mild was over a week away, same now but with roles reversed. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/MT8_Manchester_ens.png It seems some are now looking for cold weather on the charts more than they did in the winter, you would of thought after all the cold we had they would be tired of it by now, anyway if these people who moaned that the coldest winter since 1979 wasnt good enough how the hell are cold weather patterns going to make them happy in late March into April when things become much more marginal for snow
  13. Yes feels positively balmy today(14C) after all the cold since mid Dec, i find it weird people heralding spring when temps were really cold but now with a much warmer feel you hardly hear from them, this is spring in feel(gloomier skies though) not the cold early March weather.
  14. Being abit kind aren't you PIT more like way above average, models moving away from cold weather IMO, GFS 06Z OP one of the coldest runs in FI.
  15. If it was winter yes, i think you have forgotton its approaching late March now and that just like from late September you need special setups for anything potent cold or warm wise, the potential is there for colder and wet weather after the very mild and very wet weather this weekend, i dont see anything potent cold wise that is widespread snow and temps around 1C by day.
  16. The strength of the sun doesn't bother me in the slightest until early May onwards, too dangerous to be out in the sun for long periods from May to August. Really do tell me what these signs are please for hot weather in late April...... you really do need a special setup for hot weather in late April much better than mid June to mid September.
  17. lol it was mainly cold from mid Dec to the end of last week, hardly a big switch if we go back to cold patterns towards the end of March. The actual big switch in the weather is from tomorrow until the weekend when we see temps we havent seen in ages and it will feel very strange indeed putting up with such warm temps after all the cold we had to get used to.
  18. Even though temps have got upto 11C here it still feels chilly out of the sun and especially at night and early morning, went for a walk and it felt very chilly, all set to end though from tomorrow with some nasty TM air bringing lots of cloud cover before a cooling trend again.
  19. Yes poor looking models for spring really, today could be the last glorious spring day with more in the way of mild temps and lots of cloud/rain giving way to colder unsettled weather.
  20. Felt very cold all last week, started to feel mild from saturday especially yesterday, very sunny and springlike today, not looking forward to the murk from wednesday. Should be a frost tonight and maybe some fog.
  21. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn842.png - Very mild very dull southwesterly, strange people are talking of FI cold with charts like this in the reliable timeframe, abit like in the winter but the other way around
  22. http://www.wetterzen...s/Rtavn3841.png
  23. Still some chilly 850`s this weekend though on GFS 18Z, may get to 10C in sunshine but indoors will still feel on the chilly side and nights are still going to be cold.
  24. Yes what makes the large diurnal ranges even more interesting is the still low ish max's today, usually large diurnal ranges give you max's into the 10C+ plus region in March. More cloud around tonight with the moister easterly flow, still feels very raw out though.
  25. Just been looking through some UK weather forums and saw a thread opened in late November about them having recorded no sub 10C max's for a long time , i wonder if they have had enough sub 10C max's since Some people have only reported one 10C+ day since mid December
