  1. Hard for me to get excited over dull mild easterlies in April http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn1381.png
  2. Just good, give me a break, for alot of people it was spectacular or one of the worst depending on their point of view, the coldest winter since 1978/79 here and since 1962/63 in scotland and northern ireland makes it a pretty spectacular winter to me, NIMBY'ers should look at the overall picture Indeed its still going on in scotland and northern ireland so the persistence of wintry weather is remarkable.
  3. Warm in what sun more like with this stalling front which looks like pushing back westwards in an easterly flow. http://www.wetterzen...pics/brack4.gif I think massive improvement is going over the top, certainly no massive improvement on the euros tonight unless you like chilly brisk easterly winds in April that is. http://www.wetterzen...cs/Recm2401.gif
  4. lol lets hope thats the only thing this year has in common with 1987
  5. It seems everytime HP is shown on the models people over exaggerate the temps it would give or have tunnel vision and think it`ll mean only one weather type ie sunny and warm, well it doesnt work like that unfortunately there is nothing that warm on GFS 12Z at all and looking at the ensembles you`ll see many different solutions for after mid week, quite a few develop easterlies or have a developing area of LP move over us or have HP to our west letting fronts slide down from the northwest, why people dont consider these options is just people being too fixated on their weather preference.
  6. Talk for yourself i was out walking early this morning and it felt very pleasant indeed with temps around 0C, shame about all the rain in the daytime though but its alot better than suffering sleepless nights like on monday night at least the air is nice and cool, yes looks like drying up next week BUT we could be in an easterly regime which doesnt guarantee warmth this time of year, no unpleasant warmth on GFS 12Z at night thank god
  7. Somebody pinch me its April 1st, it's only 4C here now , this is no unfunny April fools joke
  8. I just want to say what a bunch of morons you have as teachers in scotland, who in their right kind would still go ahead with a school trip to alton towers when the roads were very bad indeed and even if they got to alton towers with it being so high up it would of been very scary on those high rides with blustery winds and snow showers. I wish the parents of the girl who died take the school to court, this disaster could easily of been averted with just a bit of common sense.
  9. Fed up of cold, HELL NO, after that muggy warm night the past few days have been heaven, cars all frosted up this morning, lovely jubbley  Umm i think you`ll find 10C(which i recorded) is very mild for March only a degree or so off the record for night mins in March and after a cold winter it did feel very warm indeed and very unpleasant with no wind, yuck, thank god we dont live in the hot climate you so want with nights of 20C, why dont you move somewhere where you get that all the time. In summer its very different your body is more used to it by then not in March.
  10. No southerly on GFS 00Z thats for sure, to be honest if that run comes off i`ll be delirious, apart from a few warm sectors its a very pleasant run with cool PM air dominating at least i'll be able to sleep at night, this chart below its a monstrosity, thats what we currently have and its delivering stagnant nothing very mild weather with drizzle. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn002.png
  11. Anybody up for starting a fed up of the mild thread because i know full well i am, its so warm tonight i can't sleep and thats with the windows wide open, cant beleive i'm not the only one gobsmacked by this turnaround, who the hell programs these models they are blo*dy hopeless they were showing the rain turning to snow for today on saturday in the midlands and south, to say im angry is an understatement.
  12. Unbelievable i go away for a few days expecting heavy rain to turn to snow today and guess what its drizzling and it feels like a June night, what the hell happened to our cold spell.
  13. To be honest i use to be not that bothered whether it got cold in late March into April but with people like the thread starter keep going on about it i am now hoping for more just to irritate people like him and mushy Met monkey are going for it to last until the end of April ...wow cold lasting that long is almost unheard of, even i dont expect that. LOL well you being in staffordshire you dont need to worry about 30C even in warwickshire i hardly ever record temps of 30C+ so you further northwest surely dont have to worry aobut it, i havent recorded 30C in years its not that common around here, in the southeast yes but not the west midlands northwards.
  14. Yes the potential is there but the maxs look very cold on GFS 12Z for wednesday to friday which indicates to me not much sunshine as temps can rise to 9C this time of year, GFS 12Z certainly a chilly run almost throughout with no warmth, it would bugger up the people forecasting CET's of almost 10C thats for sure
  15. Daytime temps charts on GFS look very realistic to me, 11C to 13C next three days falling to single figures for all on tuesday, must be noted only daytime 0C's are in northern england and -1C over the highlands, i dont think anybody can dismiss max temps of 0C to -1C in the lake District/Highlands in late March. Hey when it snows in the UK to low levels the temperature most of the time is a degree or two above zero in winter.
  16. Milder from thursday but still on the cool side with showery rain and lots of cloud cover.
  17. Can't see 9C in glasgow on wednesday joe but you never know at this range. This really is a fantastic chart for snow fans, this is the best kind of chart for heavy snowfall in late March. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn842.png
  18. Actually you are probably spot on with your analysis there apart from the no nighttime frost bit, temps can easily rise to 9C at the end of March, somewhere in the UK is bound to record it on wednesday onwards as this time of year it would be very abnormal not too even in a cold spell, night temps is where this time of year the real cold is as it almost always is.
  19. Wow i really cant see anything that high at all, if GFS 12Z is only right for the first week your CET forecast would already be bust unless we record almost recording breaking CET's for weeks and the chances of that are zero, another near average to slightly below average month at the highest range, roger could be nearly correct even.
  20. I think you mean GME chris as GEM 12Z isnt released yet, GME is not the best of run so i wouldnt get too hung up on that run, the ensembles show quite a few colder runs than even the OP for monday into tuesday, the risk if there for disruptive snowfall almost anywhere even as it starts as rain it could easily turn to snow on tuesday as the colder air is pulled southwards. Also geordiesnow is spot on it doesnt matter what time of day it is, temps will plummet under any showers.
  21. Yes Summer 2010 heat fans must be biting their nails furiously whether the final nail in the coffin for this summer will be come if Katla erupts
  22. I was fed up a few weeks ago of the cold but its amazing what a few boring milder weeks do to you, they make you crave the cold even more luckily some is on the plate for next week, just a shame after late April cold is rare, well proper cold until late October at the earliest in the midlands, not looking forward to the summer i think it`ll be a stinker.
  23. Not looking good for summer 2010, as we all know hot summers are rare in the UK anyway so we need all the help we can get, well with a mainly -NAO winter with lots snowcover in europe and also now with the volcanic eruption in iceland i just would be amazed if this summer was hot, i am now actually completely writing it off, heres to summer 2011.
  24. Shocking GFS 12Z run for warm weather fans, looks very cold and wintry next week, starting as rain on monday but increasingly turning wintry on monday night into tuesday esp midlands northwards then cold with wintry showers rest of the week, brrrrrrr.
  25. Yes it may warm up slightly for easter weekend way too soon to be calling a white easter monday, if it was on March 30th then yes a good chance but even then not a dead cert
