  1. For you in darlington maybe but for us in the midlands(apart from telford of course have had a sunny dry warm month that has felt like summer. lol the charts are showing a nice settled spell of weather for late next week conor.
  2. lol you wont be worrying about chilly from tomorrow conor.
  3. Not a very impressive hot snap at that gibby, its almost July so temps around 25C for most in england isnt exactly that hot, a blink or miss it affair really, ECM 12Z is horrific for those wanting extended hot weather. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Recm2401.gif
  4. Yes conor its pretty obvious this isnt a long lasting event, no model support for GFS excesses for tuesday, temps could be alot cooler by tuesday, some serious hopecasting going on on TWO.
  5. UKMO 12Z remaining solid. http://www.meteociel.fr/ukmo/run/UW120-21.GIF?23-18 When we see cross model support for GFS 12Z is time to open the champagne.
  6. Massive hot outlier from Ecm 12Z tonight, all other model runs are cooler and the ensemble mean is too , a definate trend to push the heat eastwards tonight with only one very warm day now looking likely, still looks good though with hardly any rain and pleasantly warm temps.
  7. GFS 12Z OP trending to push the plume further east with our continental cousins getting the most of it as usual, not much surprise really as plenty of 06Z ensemble runs did the same.
  8. Looks like ending up slightly above average temperature wise, pretty good month IMO, very pleasant to be out in and feeling very warm at times in a very strong sun. Still a far cry from those going for a hot June and July looks like continuing that trend.
  9. Got to admit i can't wait for autumn and winter, summer just seems to drag nowadays with not much happening.
  10. Not so sure about that i think we can easily record temps just over 25C here in warwickshire on sunday/monday if you said 30C+ then i would bet on that for sure, the ground is very dry here and will help with the daytime maxs. Still some OTT posting from people though as it looks only a brief event and back to weather near average which has been great so far this June with lots of nice dry sunny weather here. It looks like a summer equivalent of a two to three day northerly toppler to me with no extended hot spell so many crave.
  11. I guess you don't look at UKMO, GEM, BOM, NOGAPS, GFS 06Z ensembles then.
  12. Apart from the odd very cool morning, its felt very warm at times in the strong sun, it really has some power to it around the summer solstice, not sure why people are moaning to be honest, thats why i dont come on here much any more as there isnt much to report really, lots of people out in shorts, it shows you how warm it feels and how occassional the rain has been with only very short bursts of rain for over a week.
  13. The problem is though its hardly delivered any rainfall for central areas, was out walking and the ground is still hard with cracks in farmers fields, the setup is not delivering that much rain here and it looks like staying that way, i cant see the plume early next week delivering much rain at all here for the central midlands, even heavier showers are quickly soaked up by the parched ridden ground and very strong sun, like i said we'll have to wait until later in the summer like mid August onwards for rain levels to be improved here. Btw the tread ttile is deceiving, summer has been here since early June really with temps consistently into the high teens here and occassionaly around 20C so to me that is summer for most of the UK in June.
  14. lol dont worry conor, there is hope as it looks ok at T+240 hrs.
  15. What a load of tosh, ive recorded max temps around 1C/2C by day in winter and there was snow on the ground, maybe not winter to you but to most people in the UK it is, ive known it to be 3C but feel very cold due to the wind chill factor and cold dewpoints, a shame you ignore other factors apart from an actual max 2M temp reading for a 24 hr period, in winter a max of 1C to 3C can be very short lived in the afternoon before temps plummet after 3 pm and you get harsh frosts by the evening.
  16. lol made me chuckle hearing a BBC forecaster this morning saying for those tired of the heat its getting cooler from tomorrow, temps of 23C to 25C widely for three days is hardly that uncomfortable with nights around 10C, we must be a nation of softies if we cant take those kind of temps for just three days in June, even the worst summers have some days with temps early 20's to mid 20's C.
  17. Yes gavin looks like bad news for those hot June forecasters as slack LP over us/near us with HP to our northwest/north are very stubborn to get out of, will need quite a big shift to get a hot June now, only hope is for everything to back west further and import some warm air from the continent, problem then is it would most likely be slack still over the UK so would be very wet, dangerous to go on just OP runs too as some ensemble members dont trend towards backing westwards with LP systems over the UK around the T+216 hrs mark.
  18. Wow i'm not that far from staffordshire and by the looks of conors reporting it was cloud and grey on thursday there while here in warwickshire it was a lovely day with plenty of sunshine, the countryside looked glorious, a bit more cloud in the evening but nothing to worry about with still some sunny intervals, i get the feeling that even conor got lots of sunshine today as he hasnt posted in here today Today the skies are even clearer than yesterday with no cloud in sight apart from the odd fluffy cloud, the sky looks really blue, warm HP cells are great this time of year.
  19. This is the first part of weatheronlines summer forecast released just last saturday, the first part looks wrong already so it just shows you not to believe long range forecasting at all, the rest of the forecast will be probably wrong now too.
  20. No sign on current output of HP to our east, if anything it looks to be out to our west, i think this has caught out even the experts, May has been a very westerly month, just read conors moaning to see that
  21. Cold starry night then like clockwork around sunset a thin veil of cloud moves in, very chilly in rural parts temps must of been just below 0C here, you could see the drops of rain from yesterdays heavy rainfall on crops almost freezing :o Could be some even colder nights next week with a slack northerly flow.
  22. http://www.wsieurope.com/1f01c5d6-2802-47e9-a787-13326d46cf5e/news-scheduled-forecast-release-details.htm Yes my thoughts too with a quite cool first half of summer but improving in August but with days getting longer then it will take the intensity out of any warmth with nights getting quite cool under HP in the second half especially.
  23. lol well the telford curse looks to be lifted by the end of next week but for how long
  24. The public don't care how warm/hot it is during the summer just if its sunny, they arent bothered what the temp will be as in summer it will feel warm in the sun regardless of air temp, yesterday out walking it was cool in the strong breeze but if out in direct sunlight it felt very warm indeed, our moderate climate makes it perfect for getting out and about as its very rarely too hot outside the SE or too cold outside Northern Scotland in the winter.
  25. Way too early to be thinking of winter or even autumn, summer hasn't officially started yet either June 1st or the solstice.
