  1. From now on until late August onwards the weather will feel summery, unsettled spells giving rather humid and quite warm conditions, i think its time people realise that even the peak periods of summer and winter in most of england and wales temps won't deviate that often much from average, so expect max temps of around 18C to 24C in July on most days and max temps around 4C to 9C in an average January on most days, they are warm enough and cold enough respectively for most of the population to go about their daily lives. When was the last truly cold July, even cold July's arent exactly cold anyway.
  2. To me mid July to mid August is the peak of warmth in the UK, just look at the highest temps ever recorded in the UK, most during the first half of August.
  3. After the high humidity of friday and saturday back to something more pleasant today, some light showers around too, cloudy with light rain here currently, light rain isnt bad at all , very nice for long distance walking out in June much better than a blazing hot sun.
  4. They are even rarer than hot summers currently, it would be refreshing to have a cold autumn but very unlikely i'm afraid currently unless we see a big shift in weather patterns to a more northerly blocking pattern dominating the three autumn months, the northerly blocking pattern we have had dominating this spring and which looks likely for the first half of June at least seems be very rare in the autumn which is a shame.
  5. Yes the weather feels colder than christmas day, quite incredible if you think of it, the weather this christmas afternoon will probably be only a few degrees colder than on sunday June 3rd
  6. I dont think you can get worse days for June than today or colder, maxs of only 9C to 11C in the midlands and northern england, cant remember maxs colder than that around here in June, very wet too with rain heavy at times all day with a cold northeasterly breeze. Some on here were saying the GFS temps were nonsense for today, yes nonsense in the wrong way that they meant
  7. lol yes that is possible but i definately think we will see a brief heatwave in July, almost all Julys have them, hopefully mainly a SE affair just because i want the 26C recorded in Coventry in May to be the highest temp of the year as recording the highest temp of the year in May is exceptionally rare, also wouldnt mind the coldest temp being recorded in the second half of November for the year.
  8. I guess the BBC and UKMO are talking utter nonsense too as they are going for maxs lower than 13C/14C for sunday in London , which is by far not a cool place to be in June.
  9. That is incorrect, Gavin D only posts HP charts in the spring and summer when they can produce warm weather, in winter HP usually means cold so you wont see him posting HP charts over and over in the winter.
  10. Coventry has recorded 25C+ for 7 consecutive days now which is incredible for May and even in mid summer not that common. The highest being 26C what a shock come friday night with temps around 23C colder than that.
  11. Yes i guess over 10C cooler in places is nothing major to you, to the public it is and the rest of us.
  12. My forecast is summer until wednesday/thursday, cooling down for early to mid June with some late ground frosts, warming up mid June but unsettled until early July, more settled from mid July until early August but temps around average but with the chance of a short sharp hot spell with thundery downpours, very cool second half to August, as ever the heat returns for September, not sure it will be as late as last autumn though.
  13. Even though its hot now the synoptics that produced it were more northerly blocking than continental, as ever in these patterns as we approach the summer months you can get wide swings between temperatures as the block readjusts itself, so in conclusion the weather was excellent in the short term but current synoptics aren't conducive for prolonged way above average temps for our early to mid summer prospects unless we see a fundamental pattern change.
  14. Not since 2006 it isnt, 28C yesterday in bournemouth was the highest since July 2006
  15. All you heat sufferers have something to look forward to later this week, good agreement on a big cool down to what we have currently. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/MT8_London_ens.png
  16. I dont mind it to be honest, nice change from what we had but to say you cant ever get bored of this is ridiculous, if it goes on and on of course you can like any weather type, some people do go on about it too much though they know who they are , be interesting to see them in winter with the same weather pattern, not so sure they will go on about it anywhere near as much then.
  17. Going for a long countryside walk tomorrow, this weather is good for keeping the countryside dead, too hot for most in the sun
  18. In two weeks time we may be getting a fed up of all the hot humid weather thread.
  19. Those figures do sound hot for Leeds in May Aaron, scorching dewpoints for the north.
  20. 24C here in mid warwickshire and 3 more hours of warming, very warm indeed even hot for May.
  21. Yes indeed just like anybody suggesting the wettest April in 100 years would of been laughed at in March after that early summer like weather, just shows you anything is possible and nobody has a clue.
  22. Feeling cold this weekend, cool easterly winds, overcast with no sun whatsoever and temps only 10C to 12C. I hope the mid week period doesnt just stay cloudy but warmer and more humid but it wouldnt surprise me.
  23. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn1921.png - HP retrogressing towards the greenland area, not great for those looking for a very warm and settled start to summer it must be said.
  24. Yes how dare he tell such plain face lies, ban him i say. http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/cgi-bin/cgicurrentgraph?CEL=C&ART=kartealle&LANG=en&JJ=2012&MM=05&TT=20&TIME=1330&TYP=temperatur&KEY=UK&LAND=UK&CONT=ukuk&TIME=1337522765
