  2. 4 day trip away to Iceland tomorrow, weather isn't looking too great but i'm hoping there'll be a few breaks within the Low-Center over the North Atlantic to get some good photography shots on the Golden Circle and Southern Island Tour. Second-time visit for me too but this time with the NIKON D3100.

Only 4 degrees above average matt, you don't see too many people getting excited over 6C max's in mid November do you. :D

  4. Awful cloudy and cold weather for weeks on end, with just an odd warm day here or there. Mum's health is suffering so it needs to warm up :(

Feels very cool today too, brrrrr  :cold:

  5. If this dry spell continues for much longer we will be heading into 1975/1976 territory in terms of drought.

    1. Eugene

      Eugene

Very chilly easterly winds continue, only 12C here.  :cold:

  6. That wind out there is no where near cool. It is freezing.:nonono:

    1. Eugene

      Eugene

Yes that brisk easterly wind certainly is chilly, just 8 days ago heat was being ramped in MOD like there was no tomorrow for today/tomorrow. :D

  7. So it appears a case of weather wars is going on-The Week Ahead forecast (on the BBC Website) is going for someone getting 20C Next Weekend whilst The Models are going against this.

    1. Eugene

      Eugene

Hope you realise 20C is quite easily achieved in May somewhere in the south, even in Northern Scotland it's not unheard of, May usually delivers their warmest temps.

  8. November 2016s perfect cold dry sunny weather feels long gone now...:(

  9. Today is how I want my summer to be! Beautiful cloud scapes, clear fresh air and showers full of surprises!

    1. Eugene

      Eugene

That remains a distinct possibility looking at the models karyo, easterly looks on the cool side now, easterlies if direct from the east aren't too bad in early May, its the ones in July i dread, hoping for northwesterlies then.  :)

Yes i think most people's ideal weather today to be honest karyo, lots of people out enjoying the sunshine with pleasant temps, next weeks easterly should feel nice too.

  11. The polls show that the only option is to vote for Labour. Anything else is a wasted vote that will benefit this diabolical government.

  12. cold drizzle and grey skies again,  what ever happened to those bright but convective skies we commonly got in spring

      Eugene

We're not in cold air currently Ian, blame those pesky mild sectors.

  13. Interesting April, not as good as last April but not boring either.

    1. Eugene

      Eugene

Fantastic model output for last week of April karyo, you lucky northerners might even see some snow falling, the peak district has a good chance of seeing some settling snow. :)

Exactly karyo, apart from a blip last weekend it's been refreshingly cool, not sure why some want horrible muggy cr*p, as someone who is very active outdoors i need pleasant cool weather with lowish dewpoints, hate sweating buckets, nothing is worse.

  15. Iceland had a mild and boring winter but looking at the charts it looks like entering a long period of northeasterly winds and uppers in the -8 to -12 range. The dramatic and beautiful scenery will be even more stunning with the snow cover. I don't think many of us would say no to that even in March. :-)

    1. Eugene

      Eugene

Iceland/Greenland have wonderful cool sunny summers with low dewpoints, beats our humid cloudy nothingness.

  16. Probably the most interesting day of weather in a long while! If we can't have snow let's have some windstorms please. :-)

    1. Eugene

      Eugene

GFS 12Z is terrible karyo, more humid SW'ly gunk, really had trouble sleeping this week with the unseasonably mild nights, i'd take HP and cold nights/mild sunny days over that anyday.

      Praying UKMO 12Z is correct.

  19. Drizzlefest!

    1. Eugene

      Eugene

Looks like your rain has just arrived here in mid warwickshire karyo, so much for Spring, a dullfest every day, completely agree with you, this horrid weather is bad for people's health, i find it absolutely vile, roll on even average temps.
