I've been doing this long about to spot the difference between someone posting to get a reaction and someone posting with a valid, but alternative view to the majority. So, don't waste your time if you're simply trying to get noticed or bait people. If you see such a post, report it, don't react. Finally...it's a family forum so please just remember each post should be able to be read by anyone without causing offence!

I've never understood that one either. Even less logical than changing them in the first place!

Had two overnight air frosts so far, Friday and Saturday night. Last night it dropped to (frustratingly) 0.1C.

Yes, of course...I'll put my heating on if it's cold in July. Never quite understood anyone who wouldn't!

Aye - well, the snow in the photos was from the late Feb/early March dumping and the snow in the videos was from a few weeks later. The last patch on Cross Fell disappeared only this week.

As everyone embarking on the mid to late 40s dreams of, I've had to move in with my Dad for a while as he recovers from illness. He lives in a village that lies at the foot of the Pennines in Cumbria and is prone to the Helm Wind; apparently the only named wind in the UK. He's lived in the house for years, and while I know it can get windy there, I've never really experienced what the Helm Wind can do. I hate wind, but it can be quite pretty, particularly when it forms a Helm bar...a bank of cloud which breaks off and hangs over the Eden Valley. I still hate wind though.

And the benefit of a Greenland High is the blocking it provides against an Atlantic onslaught? I've only been here for 11 years - you're going to have to bear with me.
