  1. Passed the 40mm mark for the month earlier this morning, with the annual total now at 520mm, so no problems here. Currently raining and a cold 8.9º.
  2. A sharp shower this morning dropped another 1.2mm of rain bringing the total to May so far to 32.4mm and the total for the year to date to 511.8mm, which equates to nearly 75% of last year's total already! 11.5º after a low of 9.2º. My lawn's looking good!
  3. Hammering down here too right now at a rate of 60mm/hour. I think the weather's turned. No thunder though.
  4. Had 8.6mm of rain overnight which brings the total for the year so far to over the 500mm mark. 15.6C, a bit breezy and still looking showery.
  5. Had another 5.4mm of rain overnight adding to the 7.0mm we had Thursday night/Friday morning. I think the garden is about to go into overdrive. Currently 12.9C and a bit steamy in broken sunshine.
  6. That's got to be an error...surely. I'm just six miles away in a similar situation to Shap and it only dropped to -2.0C here. Similarly, at Maulds Meaburn, which is even closer, it only dropped to -1.3C.
  7. Down to -2.0C a short while ago. Now -0.5 and....well, sunny of course.
  8. Had quite a moderate air frost overnight, with it dropping down to -1.7C, which surprised me. But then looking at my records, we had 7 air frosts last May (including a -3.3C on May 12th). The latest recorded air frost each year has been:- 2010 - May 13th 2009 - April 22nd 2008 - May 19th 2007 - April 7th 2006 - April 24th 2005 - May 17th 2004 - March 22nd (!) 2003 - April 22nd 2002 - May 11th 2001 - June 2nd
  9. Very surprised, as I walked the dog at 6am, to find it was -1.7C. Currently 0.7C and broken cloud.
  10. Bloody hell! Just noticed that's a record April here too, and the first to have a mean in double figures. In 2001, my mean was only 6.1C (compared to 10.2C this year!)
  11. An exceptionally warm month, with the mean ending up a full 5 degrees above the 12yr mean. A very wet start, with 73mm falling within the first 6 days, but almost bone-dry since, with just 4.2mm falling since then. Average daily maximum; 15.6C Highest daily maximum; 23.8C (21st) Lowest daily maximum; 8.6C (13th) Average daily minimum; 4.8C Highest daily minimum; 9.2C (23rd) Lowest daily minimum; -1.3C (28th) Mean monthly temperature; 10.2C (13yr mean 7.2C) No. of days above 21C; four No of air frosts; two (seventy-six since first autumn frost) Total rainfall; 77.6mm Wettest day; 23.8mm (5th) No. of wet days (0.2mm or above); nine Highest wind gust; 45mph (4th)
  12. Well, it's in Cardiff, so you decide.
  13. Good gracious! As you'll notice, the negative post option has been removed. If you would like to see its return, then you can phone the Netweather premium-rate phone line, pressing option 1, 7, 4, 5, 5 and finally 6. Calls cost from 5p, unless you're using a landline or a mobile, in which case it'll be £10.
  14. Just click on your name or anyone else's and it'll show in their profile.
  15. I haven't really missed the point - I was saying we don't use the rating system to determine any actions against the naughty, and we never would.
  16. Just to point out that nobody gets kicked off this forum because of disagreements! Over the course of the past 12 months, I can only think of one member who's received a permanent ban, and a handful who've been given temporary ones. So less of the freedom of speech stuff....or I'll ban you.
  17. No storms here - rarely are, but on Saturday night, when out with my telescope, it was a crystal clear night, but there were very faint, barely perceptible flashes coming from the south-east. I assume these were the result of storms over Yorkshire? It would have been about 11pm?
  18. 78mm here so far this month, so even though it's seemed dry recently, nothing worrying here....so far.
  19. Better late than never...unless you're the Ebola virus. Average daily maximum; 9.6C Highest daily maximum; 15.7C (25th) Lowest daily maximum; 5.6C (7th) Average daily minimum; 0.8C Highest daily minimum; 7.6C (31st) Lowest daily minimum; -4.8C (8th) Mean monthly temperature; 5.2C (13yr mean 5.5C) Number of air frosts; eleven Total rainfall; 49.2mm No of wet days (0.2mm or above); eleven Wettest day; 19.8mm (11th) Highest wind gust; 49mph (31st)
  20. Still 23C here and I've just seen a ginger actually catch fire as they were walking down the street.
  21. Nonsense. Deepest darkest Cumbria has reached 24º this afternoon. You're right that not everywhere is enjoying the warmth, but you're evidently wrong to suggest it's the urban south east which is alone in enjoying high temperatures.
  22. Yet another lovely day here (unless you're Terminal Moraine) after a chilly night (min 3.5º) with the temperature already up to 16.5º under strong sunshine.
  23. It depends on the newspaper because the local Shetland Times has no news printed within it as nothing ever happens there.
  24. It could be either, I suppose, although I have spotted Wild Boar in the films numerous times. The two are actually only 3ft different in height....a useless fact for you..
