  1. Still something falling which is starting to settle lightly on the bits which couldn't stick earlier. Going to be very dicey underfoot tonight I think. Let's see if we can squeeze a bit more out of the next phase further inland. Edit : think it's just drift as the sky is clear
  2. Petering out now. More than a dusting, less than a covering. Won't live long in the memory, but nice to see it falling all day.
  3. Definitely now matched and possibly beat three weeks ago on surfaces where it can stick, perhaps a cm in places. But the paths etc have less than we got then. Interesting the differences in conditions can bring.
  4. Has turned more beefy in terms of snowflakes here a bit further south, settling on patio furniture now but still struggling on concrete sadly.
  5. Ebbing and flowing here, but nothing heavy enough to provide a covering. Still not breached the totals from the marginal stuff a few weeks back yet. Bit of icing sugar on the grass and in nooks and crannies, but nothing on the pavements. Hopefully this afternoon will bring a bit more this way and beyond.
  6. Picking up a bit here now with a suggestion of a few larger flakes appearing. Grass on the turn a little. Four hours of light pellets and nothing really settled so far, so at least we're getting started. Hopefully this can perk up as we move through the day.
  7. I think your location might be a little better than mine for getting under the heavier stuff. We'll see. Hope you get a covering, have a word and send it this way please!!
  8. Snap! Who knows, maybe we'll get a bit more than I'm expecting. Think we'll need a heavy burst of proper snow for about half an hour just to get the ground prepped for a covering. If it's more patchy and outside the main band to the east I think we could find ourselves snookered. Good luck!
  9. Thanks, haven't checked the radar as a bit deflated and haven't woken up yet! Had in my mind that we'd need at least 2 to 5 cms by now to hit the top end of the warning estimates, so I've just knocked that off. Highly scientific How's it going in Colchester?
  10. Snowing in Chelmsford but it'll have a bugger of a job settling. Very windy. Think a cm or two might be more realistic for here now, as a region in general we seem to have been a bit unfortunate with the way the dice fell. Never mind, still be fun radar watching today and hope the favoured spots get some streamer action later into the cold spell
  11. Looked out the window expecting to see white... Wet. Again. Lol. Night!
  12. Right, going to bed as the cat will be waking me at 4am to go out, and the nippers will follow not long after. Normally, I hate him for this. Might do me a favour tomorrow. Good luck all! Should be a good night and couple of days to come
  13. After a winter which has felt like being told your deliveroo rider is nearly there, only to see him vanish over the other side of town on the app, we are almost there. He's at the end of our path. Finally. Let's hope it's still warm. Er, cold. What a terrible analogy.
  14. A little further north and west, hmmm. Surely there's potential for it to wander in any direction from the forecast 'a little'?! Maybe just a hedge, as any other movement won't affect land?
  15. Just moved recently and hadn't marked out the designated lamppost. Schoolboy error. Just spotted the one I'll be using. Can relax again.
  16. Oh yeah not like it's a clear dividing line, and to be honest I'd imagine there's a fair bit of hedging goes into these too. Personally I don't think the heaviest stuff will get as far inland as that anyway, just want to be under the Amber
  17. Absolutely no marginality into Sunday early hours and beyond. Anything that falls from the sky will be white from then until at least midweek I'd say.
  18. That Amber is literally against my back fence! Move west dammit!
  19. Buzzing for later anyway, despite not looking quite as exciting as I'd hoped for my location on the face of it. When I see easterly I think 91, it's a cognitive bias Hope we all get some surprises later. The element of the unknown is part of the fun isn't it? There's usually a few locations who get smashed when they least expected it. Still believe I'm on for at least two maybe three inches of snow, which is enough to build a snowman with the boys in the garden. And on the upside, most of us can enjoy it and still get to the shops easily next week, which is more than some might be able to say come Monday night
  20. I've only got it at 10 am, and I'm banking it Usually only get to see that terminology when I'm googling cities in the US and Canada out of morbid curiosity.
  21. Hope so, we all deserve it in this region after this winter! I called 7 to 10 cms earlier for here by Monday night, I think we'd be unlucky to see any less and that goes for most in our area around the Amber zone. Know your neck of the woods well, used to train for football up there when I lived in Braintree. Love that part of the county.
  22. Looking forward to seeing what totals the favoured areas get by Monday night. It's slightly frustrating where I am as we're within farting distance of the traditional jackpot zones, but will be more than happy with a decent covering, as I've seen pretty much nothing of note for three years 24 hours until radar watching starts for a solid two days!
  23. Just goes to show how much local variation you can end up with in these set ups. That's just about a perfect example! Hope we can get at least a decent covering in as many areas as possible, even if it means sacrificing being in a bullseye zone - much better for the atmosphere in here!
