  1. I'm not too far from Clonmel, but just sleety here. 38.1 mm dropped so far today, a decent total and some minor flooding around.
  2. Confirmed as 6.8C, the 14th mildest February on record. The 30 year average is now 5.1C, a new record high. The mean on the 16th, 10.3C, is a new daily record. Beating the 10.0C from 1928
  3. Had no power today to work from home, so I decided a quick trip to Kerry to catch the huge waves and swells might be worthwhile... FranklinWaveLQ.mp4 CloseWave2.mp4
  4. The squall line earlier seems to have knocked my rain gauge out. To windy to get out and inspect right now. Such a pit, some very heavy showers have occurred. The wind has been gradually increasing the last half hour or so. Averaging back close to 30 mph
  5. That was short and sharp. Temperature down 2.1C in 5 minutes, dew point down 2.6C in 10 minutes. 1.2 mm of rain dropped in 5 minutes too. Wind and rain back to normal now.
  6. Squall line just arrived. Wow! Winds up to 35 mph, gusting to 55 with torrential rain!
  7. Moderate rain since 3am producing 7.6 mm so far today. Nothing unusual wind-wise yet, around 15 mph and gusting to around 35 mph.
  8. Ah no, just realised my base station doesn't connect to wifi without a mains power supply, so it hasn't been logging the station data for the last 90 mins??
  9. The weather station is battery powered, but the display I have is fairly limited (but can run on battery for a few days) so I rely more on the ambient weather dashboard for detailed info, but that requires an internet connection. I managed got an old mobile wifi-router running and found a laptop with some life in it so I could get the station data back online. So no significant gaps in the data yet. Now it's just a case of which batteries die first!
  10. Gusts went from around 15 km/h to over 100 km/h in about an hour.
  11. Electricity repair estimate from ESB 12:45, but I'll take that with a pinch of salt given the work they'll have today. When the wind arrives, it doesn't provide much warning!
  12. First gust above 100 km/h for me, just hit 113.8 km/h. Not bad for a sheltered inland spot.
  13. First gust above 100 km/h for me, just hit 113.8 km/h (71 mph). Not bad for a sheltered inland spot.
