  1. its Rain Sleet rain sleet further north and making me cry like many others on the coastal areas I dare say. Have you had much snow there. I know Tain to Golspie was bad this afternoon. 0.3 and dp -0.8. I wish it would just go down a wee bitty, please.......... Should add its windy here too
  2. Minor isolated dump of the white stuff here on the north coast, a touch on the wet side but everything is white except the main road. Temp back down to -1.7 dp-3.4. Clear skies forecast for the rest of the night sadly. I wish I lived at the other end though as it looks good on the radar for you guys in the south.
  3. Could well be. Earlier we were almost six degrees warmer than the sea level on the east coast of the county. Darn gilf stream. How goes it on the Dark Isle
  4. We must be the warmest in Britian on the North Coast as it is +2 with a DP of 0. Temp not even falling when we have clear skies, most ppn falling as rain, just the odd bit of hail and sleet mixed in. Met office were spot on with the forecast for here. I kept praying they would have it wrong.
  5. Listening to Moray Firth, it sounds mayhem down with you. Maybe its not so bad having no snow. I hope your daughter gets home sooner rather than later.
  6. Was wondering about that blob too. We have had an evening of showers. First it looked fantastic as it was big flakes and lying but it only lasted ten nimutes. Since then it has been shower after shower of hail and very fine stuff. Still it is snow. Just not nearly enough for a day off. I hope everyone gets lucky.
  7. Thats Scotlands most famous Snow road shut. A939 Cock Bridge to Tomintoul.
  8. You and me both, think we need to move inland. Local radio (Moray Firth) saying lots of roads in the area are affected by Snow. All we have had here in the far north is rain rain rain all day. However our only road south is now badly affected. No papers tomorrow.
  9. I second that commment. So far we have had heavy rain with the odd bit of sleet mixed in. Its so close but so far. Lets hope there is still ppn when it does drag that cold air in. Temp is 1.3 and DP 0
  10. Its about +4 here all the snow has long gone and its raining.
  11. I am in Caithness. Very wet and way too warm. +2.5 just now with a DP of +0.6. Heavy showers passing over which are mainly rain with a touch of hail. However I live 50 meters from the sea at sea level and I have only had two days of snow so far. It has been a different story just a mile or so inland, they have had snow since around the 23rd. Tugmistress has 3 weather stations operating in the county but they are all on the coast. Scrabster, Dunbeath and Keiss. I hope you guys get better luck than us.
  12. I would just like to thank everyone on here, as it is by far the best source of finding out what the weather is doing. The thread has occupied me for hours on end this last fortnight so thanks and keep up the good work. Met office saying it should be 4 °C ENE 18 mph-30 mph, which is a complete joke as it is -5.8 with no wind. I wont complain though as I am loving the cold snap. Enjoy the rest of your winter.
  13. More heavy snow here, but it is getting wet and temp now at -0.1 with dew at -0.9. So I am praying it does not get much warmer.
  14. Another heavy snow shower here. Temp rose from -3.7 to -0.2 im twenty mins.
  15. You never know, I had given up and then out of the blue it came, with not a single forecast predicting it.
