    1. DAVID SNOW

      DAVID SNOW

Yes, build houses on an historic flood plain area, and you will get flooded, must be global  warming though..

Complete money making stupidity , but wow, they are flooded....Pathetic to then blame it on climate change!

    2. cheeky_monkey

      cheeky_monkey

  5. The techonoligcal  world has moved so much on , but we still have Television using Aerials , somethings never change ....Thank goodness:yahoo:

    1. cheeky_monkey

      cheeky_monkey

do we? everything is cable or satellite here no such thing as freeview via an aerial

    2. Seasonality

      Seasonality

Well, modern digital television can still be transmitted through what are essentially radio waves so an aerial is needed to receive these. Cable and satellite are alternative transmission methods but a satellite dish is really a specialised form of aerial that collects and concentrates the transmissions from a satellite. Our phones and wifi also use aerials, they won't be going anywhere just yet I'd say.

Am all for the bbc trying to put a positive spin on things.. But we have had a low centred over  the north of the UK for several weeks and just stuck there.sending low after low our way I don't believe we have reached  20c for   at least 2 months in my location which is ridiculous.

    3. Tamara

      Tamara

Poorest most unseasonal September so far in a long time. *Autumn* began mid July, with a merciful break for the August B/H, and could be set to last till next Spring based on this La Nina atmospheric circulation and other combined factors that are likely to be present. A dismal prospect.

Seasonal emigration and escape would be heaven...

    4. Alice1991

      Alice1991

This September is certainly quite a contrast to the last few Septembers. In the whole 25 years of my life, I have never known such an unsettled September like this one. The latter half of the month doesn't look too promising either.

  11. The BBC has sent there weather presenter Thomaz Shcafanacered across the Atlantic to the Americas to report the devastation from the Hurricane .The BBC  are on about climate change using CO2 they are the biggest liers  out Just a joke , cut down on your emissions . Im really glad C02 does not warm the Planet:cold:

    1. matt111

  13. May we remember the  nine eleven attacks on the twin towers:cc_confused:

  14. More research needs to be done in the solar and perhaps lunar activity this is the key on understanding our weather better and perhaps give long range forecasts a new lease of life as computer models and teleconnetions are really useless. We have been barking up the wrong tree for too long there certainly needs to be a change in our thinking .....,.

  15. Almost certain th:hi:ere is a strong correlation between high and low solar activity and severe storms and earthquakes etc

  16. Beautiful moon tonight:hi:

I remember that, we had planned a day trip to the cheddar caves, we still went, was a good day, but very windy, and I'm quite sure my mother who drove from London to the caves and back again was exhausted. She probably wouldn't drive in that weather again.

Yes, coming back from Cartmel Races. Wipers could not cope with the lashing going back south on the motorway, had to get off and stayed the night in Blackpool and be blown away.
