  1. Spot on. I've been saying this for a long time tbh.The whole of the forecasting suite ,which includes long range forecasting, Short term Precipitation forecasts and anything that is to do with forecasting coming out of the AXXE of these so called Super Computers is totally unreliable ,that's about the only reliable part of the journey ....In recent years there has been a major step back in the reliability of computer generated forecasts . Times are changing not for the good in just about everything it seems....
  2. Yes, I think we can say 8c/ 46f is a damp cold , although had a strong wind with that it will feel bitter ,quite often a British default winters day, but minus 40c and below is a dangerous and life threatening temperature ,quite often a default Canadian winters day, obviously pending on where you live there..
  3. Didn't the last major sea rise occur 10.000 years ago after the last ice age and the last 7.000 years sea level rise has been pretty stable .....? ☺
  4. cheeky_monkey not far off a March record .....!
  5. Arch Stanton sorry don't adhere to so called science. Their goal posts change every five minutes
  6. Arch Stanton C02 0.4% in atmosphere ,methane less......
  7. Looking very wet and unseasonably cold I'm afraid .....
  8. baddie Big pattern change already in motion......☺
  9. baddie Met Office long range forecasts are as reliable as the British Weather. The next time they get a long range forecast right it will be the first time, not that I ever read their long range forecasts ,I've got better things to do☺
  10. Looks like the Atlantic is going to having a huge fight with Mr Scandi .......
  11. So the Hadley Cell is getting bigger? Can't see the Azores high..
  12. Gfs gives us an olive branch of a drying trend across the nation. Iberia gets cold and Noahs Ark deluge with plenty of snow for the mountains. ......
  13. February's Warmth leads to cooler March temperatures.....the forecast was put up by Ian Simpson, who used to work for that not lovable organisation called the Met office or perhaps he still does! Firstly the terminology is incorrect. It has not been warm in February ,yes above average temperatures but not bikini weather! Secondly, it's not cool now we are into March ,it's actually cold ,and yes a number of places have seen snow. But ,I can understand terminology like this from anyone who has to do with the met office , sadly the days of great weather forecasters are long gone ,and that includes the BBC crew etc. Bring back Rob McElwee !☺
  14. Well I am!!! Although probably not unprecedented, this recent run of wet and gloomy weather must be up in the top ten of the last 100 years of longevity. Just hoping we are now on a pattern change. The incidence of Easterly winds at this time of year starts to increase greater than any other time of year from now to May and including that month. I'm hoping that those easterly winds will predominantly give us dry weather ,I'm not hoping for cold now from that direction, although it still could happen especially March and April. Just some pleasant warmth and dry, will do and some sunshine ,and if the winds blow across our beautiful islands from the east in the weeks ahead ,low humidity from that direction along with some Spring warmth will dry the ground out quickly along with an increasingly warm sun. Bring it on. ....!
  15. Models are really struggling on how much influence the Atlantic is going to have on the increasing build of pressure to our north and east . Could well be the case ,and given the time of year that the drier weather is more influential in the days ahead . Could well be a slow start to Spring, and we could still tap into some notable cold from the East ,but to be honest ,I'm ready for some warmer and more importantly dry weather .☺
  16. Convection starting to show now we are into March , some nice cloudscapes…….
  17. Goodbye Winter..... My seaweed more accurate than the Met office....
  18. With the upcoming expected pattern change coming ,we in Britain may become high and dry at last, but Iberia and southern Europe better be prepared for some relentless rains and cold temperatures. It will be just the start of some major rainfall coming up for Iberia for instance and it will persist for many weeks, if you're booking a holiday to Iberia or southern Europe for instance in March and April , Think again!!!
  19. Well perhaps a major weather pattern starting to develop, Hopefully that’s the last of the rain by Monday next, and a drier pattern shifts over the Uk giving France and Iberia all of the rain! Once that pattern establishes itself it’ll be with us for a long time….
  20. Hi ,just to say Ecm has not updated since yesterdays 00z run! Cheers Ian.
  21. Looks like the Easterly winds may be a theme as we move into March ,whether it's going to be a very cold affair remains to be seen ,but at least things will start to dry out ,
  22. nobble snow symbols , May as well believe the Martians are landing on Blackpool tower…
