So Greenland blocking at the wrong time of year and apparently the UKMO long distance forecast going for 40-80% chance warmer and wetter than avg for Dec-Feb. Another mild, stormy one?
Joe B...astardi is always going on about the mini ice age! I think it will be another mild one too!
I've noticed in the mod thread, the usual rampers are tarring the whole country with the same brush. Despite some dodgy synoptics, parts of the south hold on to some pleasant temperatures in the early reaches of FI. Of course, it won't get mentioned.
The Metoffice suggestion of a warmer, wetter than average will probably be partly derived from the old N Atlantic SST anomaly method, which they believed had a 66% success rate. The May SST anomalies were supportive of a +Nao. However, we saw what happened in 09/10!
