  1. Started to get very windy here again just before 9pm we had some gusts just under 60mph for at least 45 minutes the wind has dropped a bit now but still some big gusts every few minutes and I just found out a few short moments ago a few miles away from me the road has been closed because the power lines have blown over onto the road.
  2. The wind has picked up here again just after 4.30pm with gusts according to the local weather station just under 50mph. The Western Isles had a windy afternoon with 81mph being the highest gust reported out there at Barra airport.
  3. Wet and windy day here so far with a top gust of 50mph the same as yesterday. Out in the Western Isles I've been told Benbecula airport reported 74mph and Barra airport 75mph gusts this morning but again yesterday they had gusts similar to that which had no weather warnings out for wind.

  5. Yesterday was the same old dull cloudy rainy weather with a max temperature of 9.5c at 9.02pm. Today started off wet and windy the local weather station reported a gust of 50mph. The afternoon has improved though its a bit brighter and drier. Tomorrow is looking even windier for many places the Western Isles this morning reported gusts over 60mph with Barra at 75mph.
  6. The Western Isles of Scotland have already seen strong winds today most places there reported gusts over 60mph with Barra being the highest at 75mph reported between 6am and 7am. Tomorrow is looking worse so I wouldn't be surprised to see a gust over 80mph somewhere.
  7. Yesterday here had some sunshine between the heavy showers and the wind was a bit gusty too. Today back to what we've had constantly recently cloudy, dull with some rain and mild temperatures.
  8. Happy New Year Everyone. The weather here has been mostly cloudy, dull with temperatures staying on the mild side but it did get down to 0.0c on New Years Eve.
  9. Hope everyone had a good Christmas. The past few days here has been mixed some dry with sunshine like on Christmas day and others dull, cloudy with rain like yesterday. Very mild today it's currently 10c the warmest day we've had since the 10th of December.
  10. Yesterday morning here was cloudy with rain but the afternoon turned out a bit better than expected with some sunshine and today also had a decent amount of sunshine. The temperature has mainly been around 4c to 6c yesterday and today with a high of 7.8c yesterday afternoon. Merry Christmas everyone lets hope we all see some snow soon
  11. Another cloudy day here with some rain and staying dull nothing really interesting. The temperature has been around 5c to 6c.
  12. Mostly cloudy here today but there was some brief sunshine for a time in the afternoon after it rained in the morning. This evening it's turned cloudy with rain again. The temperature has been between 4c and 6c.
  13. A cloudy day here and dull at least it stayed mostly dry meanwhile the snow has now melted away on the hills after being around for nearly a week. The temperature has been between 6c and 8c.
  14. A cloudy, dull and rainy start to the day with the temperature just under 8c. A very windy night for those in the Western Isles last night Tiree got 70mph, South Uist 75mph and Barra 82mph and no wind warning was given for out there.
  15. High gusts reported from the Western Isles earlier this morning with 70mph at Tiree, 75mph for South Uist and 82mph for the Isle of Barra I'm surprised these parts didn't get a warning for wind.

  17. Buoy 62023 off the South coast of Ireland reported a gust of 75mph at 7pm. Some other exposed parts around the affected coasts are reporting widespread gusts of 50 to 60mph.
  18. A low temperature of 0c here last night it was frosty and icy for a time and there's still some snow on the hills. The highest temperature was 4.5c at 4.10pm. It was cloudy all day and very dull with rain for a time.
  19. The Met Office has a yellow warning for wind from 2pm Wednesday to 3am Thursday, Strong winds likely to bring some disruption during Wednesday afternoon and overnight. The South coast of Ireland is already seeing high gusts some over 50mph and Buoy 62023 has had gusts over 70mph. A look at the ECM gusts charts, 6pm gusts between 60 and 70mph around Irelands coasts along the South and East. The South West of England, West of Wales and South West of Scotland seeing gusts around 50 to 60mph. 9pm the low pressure begins to move North the strongest gusts will be along the West coast of Ireland where 65 to 75mph is likely and possibly reaching 80mph in exposed parts. The South West of England and the West of Wales still staying windy gusts over 50mph. Along the South and East coasts of Ireland and the South West of Scotland seeing gusts around 60mph. 12am The winds will start to ease off for the South and East of Ireland along with the South West of England and the West of Wales. The Northern Parts of Ireland will have gusts around 60 to 70mph with 80mph still being possible in the exposed locations. Across the South West and West of Scotland see's an increase in wind speeds reaching between 50 and 60mph. Between 12am and 6am the wind will ease off over Northern Ireland and Southern parts of Scotland. The Western Isles of Scotland will be the windiest with gusts between 60 and 70mph however over 70mph is possible there.
  20. A much brighter day here compared to yesterday with a little bit of sunshine. The temperature has been mostly over 5c with 5.6c being the highest at 12.18pm since then the temperature has been gradually dropping its currently 2.0c just after 5pm. There isn't as much snow on the hills today.
  21. A cloudy day here with the sun trying to come out but it remained mostly dull. It rained in the morning and was heavy at times then it dried up later in the afternoon becoming a bit brighter. The temperature last night got down to 2.1c and has since then risen gradually all day to 5.3c just after 4pm. There's still plenty of snow on top of the hills though.
  22. An improvement from yesterdays wet and windy weather today has been dry with some sunny intervals and a calmer wind. The temperature last night got down to 1.9c and this afternoon up to 3.9c. The snow on the hills increased overnight probably the most I've seen on them so far this winter.
  23. A cloudy wet and windy day here a change from yesterdays nice sunny weather. The temperature today has been just under 4c so staying on the colder side but no snow or sleet to report from here just that there's still snow on top of the hills and some more appeared overnight. Yesterdays brief clear weather for some parts gave a glimpse of the snow over Scotland, A slightly closer look at central Scotland and the Highlands,
  24. A bright and sunny day here it's been nearly a week since we've had a day like this. Temperatures have stayed on the cold side mainly around 3c with it dropping down to 1.2c for a time earlier this morning. There is still snow on the top of the hills around here it looks nice in the sunshine.
