  1. Hi Bunny Girl - good to see you on here again. Have you been hiding so far this winter?

This is what I posted earlier:

    Posted Today, 14:24

No snow here yet, but I am happy as I had a delivery this morning...a brand new Nikon D3200 SLR camera with an 18-15mm lens! I won it recently in the Thailand Throught the Lens photo competition (http://uk.blog.touri...e-lens-winners/). yahoo.gif

Just need the snow to practice taking pictures on it, ready for the trip to Thailand next month that I also won.

As I said, I need to get out and about to take some pictures with it. Fingers crossed we get some real snow here in South Essex from the fabled Thames Streamer or Sunday's predicted front.

Very nice too Blackie - you had best make the best of snow then, as you won't get that in Thailand - but I do look forward to seeing the resulting pictures.

Not been hiding so much as sheltering; not from the weather but from broken boilers and showers and dishwashers.

Can anyone tell me if I am going to be able to drive to Sydenham for work on Monday morning from Gravesend? The right answer would be no...

  2. Always worth a try, but you'll have to get someone else to blag the conditions because I don't think anything has laid in the SE today :)

Thanks all, as I thought, but worth a shot after a late night out and looking for an excuse! My colleague in Tunbridge Wells is working from home today because of the threat of snow, but I couldn't get away with that. We now have light drizzle and very grey skies and just not cold enough.

  3. It probably won't be clear until this time tomorrow. From my point of view I can't really complain, still got 3.5 inches from Tuesday night and Wednesday which is more than a lot of London got!

More than I got in Gravesend, so I would love to get at least six inches tomorrow. Will be a real bugger not to get some after east kent has had so much - fingers crossed at the ready!

  4. Working from home today because of the icy roads - office is in Sydenham - and Gravesend is alternating between sunny skies and heavy snow flurries! Sent my youngest to school on the bus this morning and he called to say they are closing at 240 - 20 mins early!! Can anyone give an update please on the predictions for Friday/Saturday for this part, as I need to get my boys to Canterbury. Thank you!

  5. Been a long time since I have been on the site, but have been lurking around the winter discussions and of course photography, and saw your post - well done on the award and good to see the pics on here. Love the storm chase ones of course, but particularly like the balloons in China, my favourite. Good luck with the mag too for 2010. All the best!

  6. Good to see you all out there having fun - hope the weather cooperates with you and your boys' toys go find those storms!

Look forward to seeing more pictures and hearing more over the next few days.

  7. Quite a surprise to wake up to snow here in Gravesend, we normally don't get it, as seem to have weather all of our own sometimes! Snowing heavily with large flakes, adding to the covering on the ground; it looks like it could well stick around for a while. On Thursday, I sat in the garden with my mum having lunch in 18 degrees of sunshine - what a weird, wonderful country we live in!
