  1. Lovely sunrise and a clear blue sky in Essex, temp 11c with a cool breeze.
  2. Still having the odd rumble of thunder around here at the moment.
  3. Try having a little groan about and then move on there will be more opportunities this summer, we all know forecasting is not an exact science and sometimes thats half the fun of it! This is a nice forum where everyone gets along, if that wasn't the case a lot of us would not be here as often as we are.
  4. Had heavy rain, thunder and a few flashes of lightning around 2.30pm
  5. Hi Peep's, What are the temperatures like now that the storms have hit? Just interested in how much they have dropped locally. Cheers Doozer
  6. A few spots of rain in Orpington, grey cloud now but still so hot, my chocolate melted :0(
  7. Sorry Scotteboi, just a bit giddy, heat is getting to me!
  8. Tee hee! It's so hot here in Orpington that i'm a bit giddy! Cirrus thickening here now but it is still very humid.
  9. I agree, I don't think any reading can ever be 100% every piece of equipment will differ to some degree. I think that the level of destruction will give the biggest clue, I suppose we could give it a grade on the good old Beaufort Scale!!
  10. Check these rainfall totals out: Heavy rainfall associated with Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasi has been recorded along the North Tropical Coast between Cairns and Townsville with the heaviest rainfalls being recorded between Innisfail and Tully. The heaviest totals since 9am include: Sutties Creek 262mm, Maalan Road 212mm, Innisfail Wharf 184mm with totals in excess of 100mm in the Townsville area. Heavy rainfall is expected to continue during Thursday in the catchments of the Johnstone, Herbert, Murray and Tully Rivers. Minor flood levels are being recorded in the Mulgrave River at the Fisheries. River level rises are being recorded in the Herbert River in the Abergowrie area with minor to moderate flood levels possible downstream to Ingham during Thursday.
