@vizzy2004 I saw you were in Rosedale this morning. Hope you weren’t planning a trip over Blakey this afternoon, as it’s starting to look tricky!
Just at Sutton Bank. Will grab some photos in a bit, had my lunch at Newgate above Helmsley nice covering up there. (Pic attached)
Back home it’s a sad state of affairs with the temperature stuck at 1.7°C with sleet, no sign of the temperature budging anytime soon and all this precipitation is going to waste.

Moderate wet snow here but no chance of sticking at 1.2°C with a dew of 0.8°C. Ironically it’s snowing but my snow from last night is slowly melting.

Morning! Still full cover here albeit not much, currently -0.3°C after a low of -1.7°C so snow nice and crunchy. Some further light flurries overnight, not quite enough to test out the 4WD R32 with winter tyres on my trip to work this morning, perhaps they will get a better workout later on.
Working on the North York Moors today so hoping to see some more snow!
Good luck to everyone today!

Looking touch and go for my location tomorrow, might manged a couple of cm's if I'm lucky.
On plus side its snowing here currently and stating to lay, radar seems to be pepping up with some light streamers coming off the North Sea.

Has anyone told the 6z GFS it’s not BST yet and it should be rolling out by now?

The ICON 06 hrs run is still further south at T66hrs compared to the UKMO fax chart for T72 hrs from 00hrs .
The latest GEM 06 hrs run isn’t interested in the UKMO fax chart view of things .
When comparing to the 0z a slight nudge north on the ICON 6z regarding Thursdays low.

A disappointing morning with showers affecting Newcastle area but never really making it down towards the Yorkshire Coast. A dusting in the Whitby/Scarborough/Filey area but nothing to write home about. Some more showers moving down the North Sea now perhaps making better roads inland but the North Yorkshire snow shield still in full force.

need that wind to veer a bit more N or NNE for them showers to hit the majority of us - could do with a bit luck for a change
Worth noting whilst the wind is slightly west of north there is some forcing from the low pressure out in the North Sea slowly pushing showers westwards whilst moving SSE at the same time.

It is a tease, as that cloud moved away from us as it reached land!
Winds to switch more northerly in next few hours so should help bring them showers closer to land. My weather station at Kirby Grindalythe close to East Yorkshire border currently -1.1c with dew -1.9c so condiions ripe if any showers say ey up.

Got fingers crossed here guys, Radar watching me thinks? @Jeremy Shockeyhigher up than me, but i am nearer the coast....
Closer the coast the better really apart from right on coast. 66m elevation should be fine especially later in night/early morning.

Aye you may see summat. Temp 0.9c here dew -0.1c

This is always Teesside’s issue and for as long as I’ve been a weather geek I’ve never understood why this happens.
Showers come down the north east coast then as soon as they come down to Teesside area the winds push the showers over North Yorkshire missing us completely.
it really is like we have different weather down here.
North Yorkshire sticks out into sea so has the advantage of showers even when the wind is west of North. Back in December Whitby area saw 5 inches in places even though the wind was NNW, whilst im In N Yorks Im 25 miles inland so like your location we need either a direct northerly or anywhere east of north to get the showers.

Any sign of life?
2-3cm here so far and still snowing, more than happy with that as when I went to bed at midnight it was 1.2°C with no snow settling.
im hoping some of my fellow eastern low landers have also had some snow as there nowt worse than watching central and western areas get plastered whilst we get bugger all.
