  1. I can just about see some towering clouds to my south. Nothing on the radar, but hopefully something may be starting for us eastern folk.
  2. Same here, and the heat seems to be even more oppressive than earlier. Still 31C
  3. You have to keep watching the map. Blue dots come and go as people go live. Click on one when you see it.
  4. If you're on facebook, go to www.facebook.com/live. Few videos on there, one guy showing live coverage in Norfolk with some hail the size of grapes.
  5. That cell north of Thetford is exploding! I'm watching it grow from here. So well defined against a blue sky.
  6. Cambridge and Wattisham both 34.0C at 14:00. I'm sure there will be higher than that confirm though, as I've been higher than that today (not by much though!) https://www.netweather.tv/live-weather/daily-top-20/maxt
  7. I think we've missed that boat already. Much of East Anglia now covered in cloud. My high was 34.4C, now back down to 33.8C with a bit of cloud about.
  8. My lawn is longing for some rain. Trees now starting to drop leaves too. Nearly 2 months with no rain hopefully coming to a spectacular end today!
  9. I’m 30ish miles south of Norwich, and can see it from here
  10. 34.3c at the moment and wall to wall sunshine. Satisfied that’s an accurate temperature too as my Davis Vantage Pro 2 has the added FARS. I’m also in the sweet spot for heat today.
  11. Uppers on Friday look conductive of some very high temps in our part of the world before the cold front sweeps in. Looking forward to the possibility of storms as it does so, but that's still a little way off as yet.
  12. Temperatures a little down on where they were this time yesterday, We were seeing 27C quite widely at 10am with Luton and Cambridge at 28C. Today it's closer to 24C with Norwich and Gravesend at 25C.
  13. Dublin Swimming Baths have announced that they will be closing swimming lanes 7 and 8 in order to save water.
  14. Hi all. I'm after some suggestions. I'm best man for a friend of mine, and of course one of the duties is organising the stag do! He's getting married in January, so we've decided that November will be the best time to go. I've been on a few stag dos in summer in Europe, but never this late in the year. I'm thinking German....Berlin, or Munich. There will be about 18-20 of us. Any suggestions?
  15. Abu Dhabi. I was only there for a day when my onward flight to Sydney was delayed. It was a day too long. Hotel was nice....but as a destination? Awful!
  16. A drought is defined as 15 or more days with less than 0.2mm rain. It last rained here on 9th June. June as a whole only brought 7.2mm here, and that was all on 9th June! Yet to record a rainless month in my 15 years of recording weather, but I wonder if July 18 May be it.
  17. Still to rain in sight. This drought is now really starting to have an effect on the wheat and barley crops. I saw wheat being irrigated near Kelvedon at the weekend which is rather unusual! Unfortunately most farmers don't have irrigation facilities.
  18. Here we go. Showers just starting to fire up in West Norfolk going by the radar. Expect everything to develop quickly now
  19. We had that from about 7.30. 4.8mm. That put a halt to my plans of cutting the grass this morning
  20. These showers seem to producing a lot of snow considering how relatively light they are showing up on the radar. I imagine the cold uppers and surface temps are meaning the snow to moisture ratio is better than we are used to.
  21. It's -5c outside and snowing. People have been slating this cold spell but that's not bad for any winter, let alone when nearly into March! Fingers crossed these stronger shower in the North Sea continue to build and multiply
