  1. raz.org.rain An early plume there with heat building over Spain and north Africa. A sign of things to come?
  2. I found August 2007 to be a reasonable month and although it had a cooler CET, it was a million times better than the following year!
  3. Yes, I believe when the wet pattern does finally end, we will be in for a prolonged dry period. However, what seems to be more and more apparent these days is no matter whether it's a wet or dry period, it will be warm!
  4. raz.org.rain certainly wouldn't surprise me!
  5. At least some folk in the south west have had fun today, although not all I'm sure!
  6. Slightly above average. You're correct of course going by the 91-20 average, but 9.4C would be 1.5C above the 61-90 average! Stating the obvious I know, but just goes to show how much and how rapidly the climate is changing!
  7. Whilst without doubt, 'feel' is different to actual temperatures and always has been, I'm certain some people feel more cold now than they would have done 20 odd years ago, due to their tolerances changing as a result of climate change. I suppose if you think about it, it's to be expected as Australians for example find their winters to be cold, whereas we would find them warm. Remember back in the days when BBC forecasters would predict wet and windy weather during winter and then finish by saying, 'at least it will be mild!'? Weather forums were around in the early noughties and while I certainly remember folk moaning about wet weather, they would not complain about it being cold.
  8. It's felt like you've got that 8.3 round the wrong way apparently!
  9. damianslaw What does amuse me is when people say things like 'what's happened to Global warming etc?!'. I'm talking about in general BTW, not necessarily on here. You mention about the 'feel' of the weather triggering a reaction to how we describe it, but I remember during past mild winters, most would say how mild it was, whether it was wet, dry, dull, wet, windy or sunny! I think people are so used to mild being the norm now, their tolerances are changing? I have worn my winter coat only a handful of times since November, with a light water proof jacket sufficing most of the time. However, it's swings and roundabouts as come summer when it's 30C plus and humid, I will be struggling, while some others are enjoying the weather!
  10. damianslaw I know and yet people still say how cold it is! How would they cope if we went back to the climate of just 40 years ago?!
  11. Methuselah There was a time when analogues were useful (although hardly bullet proof). However, I think with CC skewing things somewhat, has made them less reliable in recent times.
  12. *Stormforce~beka* I want some! Dry here today, but lots of cloud.
