  1. About 1 inches here this morning up in the Pennines the other side of Halifax and it looks like it's set in for 2 days now....The wind is really bad, mega drifts time.
  2. Friday looks like a lot of fun! for the mean time though, light snow here settling nicely....The poor roofers at my house are gonna be annoyed as they have struggled to catch up with there work due to snow disruption this winter.
  3. Snow....Wet snow....Rain....Snow....Wet snow, on and off at times today.
  4. Snow laying from approx 260m up here, bits of snow below that but not much and not so much above that just a nice covering. Nothing drastic!
  5. They have an Imbolc festival in Marsden near the tunnel end in, i guess you know about it Gray-Wolf?
  6. I'm looking forward to the high pressure and warmer temps for the next few days, transitional snow is always such a let down.
  7. March theories, what about the mid-Feb theories? Is it looking like dropping colder after the midweek blip or will it do what the bbc say? high pressure from the SW bringing temps up to about 7-8c.
  8. Snow got heavier last night, 2 or 3 inches? not bad really, it's plastered the side of the house the wind really picked up here last night.
  9. I was thinking this cold spell was going to be a really good cold spell, when did it become so diluted?
  10. The day has got warmer here, only 1 outside but was 0 when i set off earlier at 12.30pm. Odd. I'm 250m in HFX and it's wet snowing, looking towards 300+ it looks similar, not as cold as this morning.
  11. Well that is a bit dissapointing! snowing all morning, a nice covering and i come home and it's wet snowing and lost some of our cover....i take it the cold air hasn't dug in yet?
  12. It's been snowing lightly all morning here, everything is covered nicely but nothing of real note as regards to precipitation.
  13. The weather front if barely here yet, still snowing lightly and it is misty too.
  14. I'm near halifax, Hubberton which is up above sowerby bridge.
  15. Hmmm I'm just expecting snow up here, big differance in temps earlier between being in leeds and here....6 in leeds only 2 here.
  16. I love people having snow days, makes my travelling a lot better....Some of us never have snow days, doesn't wash!
  17. Yeah i thought the same thing, could be very interesting for the hillier places in Yorkshire.
  18. Heavy squally snow blowing horizontally and thunder and lightening too! amazing.
  19. Hello PTFD, I've moved away from Slawit' now i live up in the hills above Sowerby Bridge....Anyway, Showers turning very wintery here now, hail and wet snow...tomorrow will be fun!
  20. We had light snow overnight, i think the front has all but gone as it's literally a dusting on cars and the lane.
  21. Most snow is here still but some thawing, some lovely sunshine today....We went for a drive near home up Cragg Vale then towards Baitings damn which was frozen over still and covered in snow so it looked pretty beautifull and still for a change! A lot more snow only 100metres up from us and then we decided to go under the M62 towards Saddleworth then over towards Huddersfield on the A640(Oldham Rd.) ....which was almost a mistake, it was clear all the way up towards buckstones but all of a sudden the ploughing stopped at the most exposed section of road at around 450m up, I have a 4x4 car but it's a car and an s-line audi at that so lowered so for about 1mile the road was awful and the drifting bad! very precarious but a mountain biker came through towards me so we ploughed on through. I got to the other side and there was a road closed sign facing westwards but nothing going east towards Huddersfield! A good little drive out and now i'm in with the fire on and roast chicken and roast taties in the oven so all is good. :)
