So to sum it up your to close to the coast should the shortwave develop and bring about its milder sector and your also to far north for showers.

Can see why your always so negative.

the bright side is you live in morcombe…. O I see 🤪

Getting the N Eden project in Morecambe that'll be a massive boost for the area.

As for snow .... nothing to see here IMBY.

Better sort of day today-didn't get wet! Temps topped out at about 6.8C, 6.2 now. Rained hard in the night, no values sorry forgot to leave out a random bucket.-checked the river Dane earlier today though, flows up and rising by the look of things so no fishing yet!  Huge excitement in model land-could it be that the pattern is actually going to change?

Happy New year all when it comes-here's hoping for colder, frostier, drier, brighter weather and possibly some snow.

Lucky. I'm glad i went out for a walk early. Been raining here since around midday, stopped around half an hr ago. Just in time to be able to walk up to the pub 😀. Have a good new years eve all.

  3. Not even a drop of rain here today. Looking at the easterly element in the wind forecast I expect it will remain that way for here overnight as well.  Dry and cloudy.

Met forecast warnings been pretty accurate in my eyes. Enjoy the snow those that have it, great to see pictures of places I know pretty well covered in a good dump of snow. More photos please 😃

  4. Heard the thunder last night, think we caught the edge of the rain coming from the storm.

July a total write off, same as everywhere else in the region. Noticed the same about the rainfall 3 times the average for here, has certainly felt like it.  Polar opposite to the previous 6 weeks, you have to wonder what's going on.  No middle ground this summer.  One extreme to the other.

Did anyone between the far east of Greater Manchester to Merseyside corridor miss out on storms during Saturday-Monday just gone?

Struck me, that on Saturday, Merseyside up to M6 area did best, rest got nothing.

On Sunday, eastern parts of Greater Manchester did best and the rest virtually got nothing

On Monday, the areas in between did the best.

Further up the road from you in the M6 corridor nothing here either. Flooding in Kirkham and locally on the Fylde coast. Aside from a 10min shower sat night we've had no rain here since May 8/9th.

We pull a small amount of water out of the local river (the Bela) at work to cool our machines here before returning it.  I realise the EA have tightened up on these things but we have had a mail this morning warning us the river is now classed as critically low, if the flow doesn't improve over the next 48hrs the licence we have will be suspended until flows return to normal. Similar to home here with little or no rain since early May.

  6. We are in the next to no rain area here as well. Saturdays storms all passed 4/5 miles to the west and last nights storms missed us to the east by the same kind of distance. Nothing here bar a 10 min shower on  Saturday night. Really noticeable differences locally. Was playing golf yesterday in chorley and there were pools of water everywhere on the roads, the course was still bone dry and baked though.  Looking like another dry week coming up. Enjoy it while  it lasts if you are able.

The opposite of the rain/snow west/east of M6 divide, with all the rain and thunder for the west, and the snowy east side in the shadow!

Was just thinking the same. Really dark and some constant thunder directly to my west now. Meanwhile it's still dry and cloudy hereScreenshot_2023-06-10-20-32-42-39_9648d710b2f9cd5af3aec6f2108ee52d.thumb.jpg.65abf3b2da96444e663e6386f42a0352.jpg
