  1. Looks good for those further east and with elevation. Rain/Sleety mix for those further West, with the E wind killing most of the precipitation for those of us in the shadow i'd expect. Enjoy if you get some snow.
  2. A few trees down here, ones on the main routes cleared up but there's still a couple of minor roads closed. Seen there's still alot of folk without power ..... not great with round 2 tomorrow.
  3. Messy at Dublin Airport isn't it .... I've been following a Ryanair flight from Paris. Tried to land at Dublin fail.... meandered for a while then tried twice at Aldergrove fail .... now on its way to Glasgow. Off again. Now s bound
  4. Not much snow at all N of Garstang. Pretty heavy snow falling between Preston and Garstang but N of that theres virtually nothing on the ground at all.
  5. Decent covering in Preston this morning. Not sure how long it'll last but we have snow.
  6. Getting the N Eden project in Morecambe that'll be a massive boost for the area. As for snow .... nothing to see here IMBY.
  7. Happy we at least seem to be finally drying out here, with the added bonus that its a bit more seasonal. For snow to fall IMBY we need a cold NW or a WNW, thats when the marginality for here at least also comes into play. Baby steps but the cold air seems to be on the way what happens next is anyones guess.
  8. Lucky. I'm glad i went out for a walk early. Been raining here since around midday, stopped around half an hr ago. Just in time to be able to walk up to the pub . Have a good new years eve all.
  9. Don't even think it's rained here. All frost gone, grass back to full green . Forecast for the week looks uninspiring, Easterly wind direction suggests dull and cloudy days with little or no rain. At least I get to drive up to the snow zone for work tomorrow
  10. Not even a drop of rain here today. Looking at the easterly element in the wind forecast I expect it will remain that way for here overnight as well. Dry and cloudy. Met forecast warnings been pretty accurate in my eyes. Enjoy the snow those that have it, great to see pictures of places I know pretty well covered in a good dump of snow. More photos please
  11. Thought I'd put this on here. Been like this almost all day here. Rain east and west but really under the rain shadow here as well. If it wasn't for the wind it would be a decent day.
  12. Heard the thunder last night, think we caught the edge of the rain coming from the storm. July a total write off, same as everywhere else in the region. Noticed the same about the rainfall 3 times the average for here, has certainly felt like it. Polar opposite to the previous 6 weeks, you have to wonder what's going on. No middle ground this summer. One extreme to the other.
  13. We've had a couple of direct hits today from storms. Last one around 15/20 mins ago passed right overhead. Looks like there may be another one on the way as well.
  14. Lancaster/Morecambe looks directly in the line of that storm over Clitheroe. Other one to my west heading over towards the Fylde coast. It even looks like they may join together just to the N of here.
  15. Mind the gap . Can hear 2 separate storms. One almost directly to my east and the other now to my S/SW. Dry here.
  16. Rumbles of thunder South and South East of here. Storm seems to be moving NW. Looks like it's heading west of Preston towards Kirkham.
  17. The wait goes on here. Nothing over night bar a few showers. It's the e'rly wind direction that kills it imby. Reports of localised flooding in Lancaster overnight. Question is do I get the bbq out.
  18. Further up the road from you in the M6 corridor nothing here either. Flooding in Kirkham and locally on the Fylde coast. Aside from a 10min shower sat night we've had no rain here since May 8/9th. We pull a small amount of water out of the local river (the Bela) at work to cool our machines here before returning it. I realise the EA have tightened up on these things but we have had a mail this morning warning us the river is now classed as critically low, if the flow doesn't improve over the next 48hrs the licence we have will be suspended until flows return to normal. Similar to home here with little or no rain since early May.
  19. Tonight's storms passing S and W of here. That's 3 nights on the run now
  20. We are in the next to no rain area here as well. Saturdays storms all passed 4/5 miles to the west and last nights storms missed us to the east by the same kind of distance. Nothing here bar a 10 min shower on Saturday night. Really noticeable differences locally. Was playing golf yesterday in chorley and there were pools of water everywhere on the roads, the course was still bone dry and baked though. Looking like another dry week coming up. Enjoy it while it lasts if you are able.
  21. Was just thinking the same. Really dark and some constant thunder directly to my west now. Meanwhile it's still dry and cloudy here
