  1. The wider view shows the next area of rainfall prepping itself in readiness. Were you in Wilts? This time I bet you wished you were in Lulworth as it was a beaut as it cruised through and you would have had a ringside seat on this one.
  2. Latest update does show the amount of electrical energy dissipating as the heat of the day (and the inbound air) subsides a tad! Have you informed the police?
  3. Cells to the left of me, cells to the right of me,, ere I am stuck in the middle with a view. The cell just over Mapantz's place was putting on a great lightning show with Cg & CC lightning. Meanwhile the cell nearest us gave us 10 seconds of hail and a couple of minutes the with rainfall. So close, yet just too far away.
  4. Morning All, as the front moves away the showers pile in looking at the satellite shot this morning: The brighter conditions clearly visible out over the channel this morning
  5. Did I hear somebody say that the Bashley vs Westbury United, would have been more exciting to watch than England
  6. Andy Bown Andy the narrow band of rain is part fo the low spin activity shown below The rest is forming nicely in the channel at the moment, so looking to be damp later and seems to be set to track northwards, so we are just on its western fringe at the moment, from a track perspective. Overnight the low of 8.1°C at: 05:04, currently 11°C, RH77% and light air movement from the S.
  7. Afternoon All, some early rain around 4am, but the main area of rain has eased back westwards. The overnight low of 6.1°C at: 00:00 has climbed progressively to the current 11.2°C, RH74% and a light breeze from the south with a few clouds at an altitude of 2,000 ft. From Above On Golden sands Possibly, but only on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (for a change)
  8. Afternoon all, a fine sunny morning has enabled the overnight low of 3.6°C at: 02:25 to reach 12.9°C at: 12:38, with the RH64% and a light breeze in from the N, with scattered clouds at an altitude of 3,500 ft. From Above On Golden sands Looking soggy tomorrow for the western part of the region
  9. Wouldn't have though so on a sting jet, as the showery outbreaks stretched from Norfolk to Cornwall. The showers were variable in intensity and as is common with heavy showers: There is a particular type of wind that is generated by rainfall. If a lot of heavy rain drops fall from a cloud, they drag the air down with it. This is deflected by the ground and flows as a wind outwards in all directions at ground level. This sudden outflow is often felt a minute or so before the rain actually gets to you, so can give warning of an approaching shower in fairly still conditions.
  10. Looking like the last band of showers heading our way for the day, after rain and hail, it's certainly cooler out there.
  11. Morning All, quiet today, is everybody outside enjoying the warm sunshine and cool breeze? The overnight low of 3.0°C at: 06:31 was cooler than of late, currently 9.8°C, RH69% and a light breeze in from the WSW with broken clouds at an altitude of 3,400 ft. From Above showing the inbound showers A fair number of showers, some fairly strong ones On Golden sands
  12. A bright afternoon, enable me to get on with the decorating, as decorating in the gloom is quite challenging. So finished the room, now to put the furniture back in readiness for the granddaughter visit on Sunday.
  13. Morning All, the overnight low of 8.1°C at: 01:33 has eased up to 11.2°C , RH82% and a light breeze from the NNW, as the front crosses the area. the first part didn't create a drop, the second part has some rain on it, but doesn't look to be that much now, expecting to see it here around 12ish. From Above with the infrared view showing the slow moving feature and the cloud dragging its feet. On Golden sands, grey and devoid of life!
  14. Had washing on the line for the days and last night, with the warmth yesterday it did well, today somewhat slower but enough air movement to dry it even though we lacked the suns' warmth. Suggestion is for this weakening feature to cross the area early tomorrow, so the washing is coming in tonight. Meanwhile you have to love GEFS, hope ability with this chart for Saturday
  15. Morning All, another dry start, wow two in a row! The overnight low of 7.9°C at: 06:19, has risen to 11.9°C, RH91% and a light breeze from the WSW under mainly cloudy skies. From Above some breaks in the west of the region On Golden sands a calm sea and a hint of sun
  16. Morning All, what's this I see, POTENTIAL for a couple of dry days? An overcast morning after the overnight low of 9.0°C at: 05:59, currently 12.8°C, RH93% and light air from the NNE. From Above, with cloud breaks visible On Golden sands, I see a shadow being cast from the soul on the beach...
