  1. Phew heading towards 19:30 and still daylight, creating time to be in the garden after an evening meal! In about 40mins maybe!
  2. A little later than suggested (maybe they didn't move their clocks forward!) As suggested by others the convergence zone firing a few things off
  3. Morning All, overcast and mild sums it up really, oh and dry. The overnight low of 5.7°C at: 05:56 has risen to 9.3°C, RH90% with a light breeze in from the ENE, with broken clouds at an altitude of 1,100 ft. From Above On Golden sands, the dog walkers have the beach to themselves.
  4. Ah now the M6 has some real delights. I also knew with that tank full I'd make Edinburgh easily. I also managed to fill up at Tebay, to get back in the car and unknowingly had a wasp to my shirt, sat in the car and felt an amazing "ouch" moment. So I suffered for the 4 days I was in Edinburgh with a wasp sting. Never to be forgotten!
  5. Andy make the most of it, it looks unlikely to last long: Met Office Outlook Wednesday 3 Apr - Friday 12 Apr The ongoing unsettled spell of weather seems likely to continue through the first few weeks of April. Initially, the heaviest and most frequent spells of rain and showers are likely to be across southern parts of the UK. Often windy, especially in the south and west. Saturday 13 Apr - Saturday 27 Apr Through mid to late April, there is no strong signal for any one particular weather pattern to dominate over another. As such, further rain and showers are likely at times, but there is also a reasonable chance of some drier and sunnier spells of weather. So wellies and waders to the fore, for a while longer!
  6. Morning All, as noted a fine BLUE sky earlier this morning, now filling with some spring like Cu. The overnight clear sky allowed the temperature to drop to 3.7°C at: 06:37, currently 13.3°C, RH72% and a light breeze from the SW with scattered clouds at an altitude of 1,800 ft. From Above, the bands of showers over Devon and Cornwall showing nicely. On Golden sands, looking a little busier today.
  7. Bright sunshine after a couple of showers earlier this morning, with the wind easing slowly. On Golden sands, not a lot of grockles to be seen.
  8. Updated numbers: Short on news day, the local rag doesn't interpret, it just posts!, totally agree with you.
  9. https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/24219245.tornado-warning-issued-dorset-today/ Really? Issued for up to 8pm tonight
  10. Wind gust at Hurst Castle 75.1mph, still gusting around here. 45mph here, and bearing in mind our location, that's a high!
  11. Andy Bown A couple of bands of intense rainfall across Dorset, I'm patiently waiting for ours! All the thunderous activity is WAY to our north.
  12. Still breezy, current figures show: Parkstone yacht club high is 59mph. Hurst Castle picked up a 75.1mph gust. Weymouth picked up a 77mph gust.
  13. Tad blowy with Hurst Castle having these figures Gusting 69mph as suggested in the Met Office forecast. Parkstone yacht club in Poole harbour showing an increasing wind speed: Lots of broken branches down in the area, and one place I went in to had to manually operate the sliding doors to prevent the wind causing damage. Not a lot of beach left:
  14. Morning All a nice sunny start to the day (I am talking about hours ago mind you) albeit brief, before the deluge started. A cooler night with the low of 2.8°C at: 03:48, currently 6.2°C , RH93% and a freshening breeze in the S - SSE. From Above On Golden sands, the beach has all but disappeared again.
  15. Nice one. Some heavy rain in the current surge from the south, standing outside it went from rain, to heavy rain back to rain within 2minutes.
  16. The wider view shows the next area of rainfall prepping itself in readiness. Were you in Wilts? This time I bet you wished you were in Lulworth as it was a beaut as it cruised through and you would have had a ringside seat on this one.
  17. Latest update does show the amount of electrical energy dissipating as the heat of the day (and the inbound air) subsides a tad! Have you informed the police?
  18. Cells to the left of me, cells to the right of me,, ere I am stuck in the middle with a view. The cell just over Mapantz's place was putting on a great lightning show with Cg & CC lightning. Meanwhile the cell nearest us gave us 10 seconds of hail and a couple of minutes the with rainfall. So close, yet just too far away.
