Advised my wife it’s going to improve after lunch so we’ll go to Swanage and try to have a bit of beach time.

Face value a low shower risk, sunny spells and 17/18c is fine.

Just looked closer and saw the predicted wind and feels like temperature. She’s not going to be impressed !!

But at least the sea temperature is warmer than the air temperature, currently 18.5 °C.

Welcome to the UK's biggest air festival, it's an unmissable weekend of wonder: in the air, on land and at sea.

Generally the events start around 1pm ...ish and end around 5pm and then sometimes there's the evening session which begins around 6ish until duskish..

Apologies for the "ish's" but it varies by the day, the last day is always a short day and finishes around 4ish (!)..

Of course if Mother nature joins in, the you're b.....d as the flying is cancelled.

Doubt it. Hengistbury Head will get in the way.

Yeah that's a long way out from the the action, would do best to get to the east cliff or west cliff.Usually quite viewable from those places, I think I get the best view from the top of Richmond Hill!

At least try to get to Southbourne OR Sandbanks, opposite ends of the main action.

If you seriously want to watch the show AND enjoy the evening stuff, you need to get closer that New Milton, of course depends what you are seeking. You could always park at my place and catch the bus in from here should you wish..

  4. Morning All, some good cloud activity going on this morning, dark areas to the north of me somewhat lighter over the channel, after yesterdays miss, I wnder If we will get lucky today with some shower/rain activity, radar suggests "yes". An overnight low of 11.9°C at: 04:36, currently 17.4°C with RH76% and a decent breeze in from the SW..all to play for and of course it is the weekend so showers seem more likely on these days!!

Today’s 21.4c maximum is the first time it’s got above 20c for 8 days!

Two dry days in a row too!

Turning my attention to the Dorset weather and primarily the Wimborne/Corfe/Poole areas for Saturday onwards!

Saturday looks terrible, Sunday/Monday shower risk, better for a few days midweek?

Andy, welcome to our domain, always welcome a fellow NW forum member to the area. As noted unfortunately the weather isn't looking brilliant by any means, however look at it this way...

In the rain, the beach will be this empty so you can enjoy the spaciousness of it all!

  6. Based on the IOW reports, seems like the MetO hit it right on, but not for the local area from the local rag...

A YELLOW weather warning has been issued for heavy showers, torrential downpours and thunderstorms may cause travel disruption and some flooding.

The Met Office issued a yellow warning for torrential downpours and thunderstorms just after 9.30am today until 11pm.

Homes and businesses have been warned there may be disruption to travel today and this evening with possible delays to public transport.

The Met Office has said there is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.

⚠️ Yellow weather warning issued ⚠️
