  1. The pressure chart for ISHA is unusual compared to a "normal" inbound low, where you see a progressive curve, dependent of course on the pressure drop, but ISHA seems to be in fits and starts, just looking at the pressure drop, it's almost a stepped pressure descent.
  2. Try this https://wow.metoffice.gov.uk/ And also https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap?lat=51.069&lon=-1.795
  3. I'd say keep checking until the old man's nose goes white, then I think he'll be cold enough.
  4. They've moved from the MOD thread as nothing is happening over there, in fact there's a general "Winter is over" aroma beginning to waft out of there today
  5. A useful reference to see local coast wind speed can be found here: WeatherFile.com | Real Time LIVE Wind Data WEATHERFILE.COM Real time LIVE current wind speed & weather data. From locations across UK, Ireland, South Africa, France & USA Go to "Locations" and select the site from the list for more data. Time for my scale to autocalibrate have reached the top of the lower dial range!
  6. Morning All, an overcast start to the day after the rain overnight, with the overnight low of 5.0°C at: 00:08, currently 9.8°C, RH96%, and a fresh breeze in from the WSW.
  7. No, storm ISHA is still developing way out in the Atlantic at the moment. What you will be / are experiencing is this cold front coming in overnight, as has been forecasted. Looking at the chart, it suggests the wind strength dropping back once the cold front moves through. ISHA is still well out, as can be seen on the fax chart: And developing nicely on the global view: Stepping through the fax chart you can see the progression into later tomorrow for ISHA: Midday Sunday Midnight Sunday THEN, the next inbound deepening low (not expected to be as deep as ISHA) gets ready to have a go after ISHA: Midday Monday Midnight Monday to Tuesday Tuesday Midday
  8. Morning All, a grey start to the day heralding more akin to January weather later in the weekend and through the week, of course I am talking winds and rain. I think the cold weather in the US will have a lot to answer for by the end of this week, through the increased speed of the jet stream. Anyway, it is what it is, the overnight low a mild 0.3°C at: 00:00, currently 6.1°C, RH76% with a fresh breeze in from the SW. From Above On Golden sands, already a fair amount of white water
  9. 11am this morning the wind turned from the colder air source in the N, back to the traditional SW, and then started to increase in strength.
  10. Morning All, another glorious start to the day, after an overnight low of -6.9°C at: 07:52, currently 1.7°C, RH86% and no breeze. From Above On Golden sands
  11. Did considering doing it many years ago, bought the equipment to build my own setup, but time got the better of me as did the Internet, providing most of what I was looking for. Now of course the Raspberry Pi seems a good core for such a project, unfortunately it was a passing interest, now satiated by the availability online of images from Global satellites.
  12. Buffalo, New York state was hammered yesterday, with lake effect snows, expected to deliver about 2ft of snow to the area as heavy bands of snow passed through. 'A living hell': South Buffalo neighbors digging out after receiving five feet of snow WWW.WKBW.COM The National Weather Service says the South Buffalo community received 60.5 inches, or more than five feet of snow during this week's lake effect event.
  13. As noted above the colder air has returned to Levi this morning, with a cracking low temperature
