We're actually in a ftost hollow here that I've seen one of the coldest spots in the country more than once despite being a few miles from the S. coast in Devon. It doesn't work when there's cloud and a breeze though, 5.9C here

I was going to post this too, we have Nasturtiums growing + flowering, rose bush flowering, those pink wild poppies flowering, and neighbours honeysuckle flowering! despite a few brief air frosts.

Most of the trees are bare or with brown/orange leaves now though.

    4. Upgrade

      Upgrade

my mum's "funeral weather" was astonishing. We went into the service in church in bright sunshine, and came out to a snowstorm and inches grew on the ground during the burial . very atmospheric and somehow appropriate.

  6. Ok so question of the day. Are ladybirds know to be blood suckers, as I watched two ladybirds today bite the [email protected] otta me and have good time, that was before the finger of god flicked them off. Usual, or not?

We once had a swarm of ladybirds down south here and they were biting people then. Usually I think it is a sign they are hungry and try anything that moves! There has been a great increase in the red ones in the last week. before was mainly the harlequin ladybird.

I was in Norfolk last year when they had the ladybird swarms, for someone who doesn't like flying insects (me!) it was horrific.
