    The wonderful Met Office has me down for three hours of heavy snow from 7pm until 10pm. Do they know something that I can’t see on the radar? We’ve had a few flakes blowing in the wind all day but nothing of any note

    After many years of watching these forums I’ve learnt one thing in particular. If the ‘experts’ say it will be marginal, it will fall as rain.

    Here in North Warwks I am now under the darker pink on the radar having been under the light pink for 30 minutes or so. Not had a flake! Couldn’t make it up!

    I’m in Warwickshire too and it was snowing very lightly yesterday evening but nothing now. I’m expecting sleet/rain tbh. I’m optimistic for later in the month though once this incoming mild ‘snap’ is over

    Absolutely epic drive from Leicester to my house in Hartshill near Nuneaton. Had to abandon the car a mile short of home. All roads are lethal. Even the A5 is totally covered. The hill up to Hartshill was too much for my rear wheel drive automatic. Still tipping it down.

    Can't see any reason why it won't reach my area. The clouds have obscured the moon that was shining brightly 30 mins ago. Reckon you guys in Brum are in with a chance too.

    If that's true I'm amazed. I live in Hartshill and we had lying snow from this Boxing Day until New Years Eve

    Yes, light snow falling here. Still got a reasonable covering here but absolutely nothing left down in the valley of the A5. Amazing what difference elevation makes. There was hardly any snow in Leicester City Centre this morning but Desford had a fair dumping and its only 5 miles away. Are we expecting more snow on Wednesday as previously predicted? It's all due to ground temperature. It would have fallen significantly after last nights snow.

    Deeply confused. This morning we were being told to don the snowshoes and that there was no sign of mild for the foreseeable and now you are saying we should slap on the factor 50 and dust off the cricket boots. I've lost faith in this netweather lark

    Can someone explain why, on the Will it Snow feature, does it say that Brum has a 70% chance of snow on Friday but Nuneaton and Coventry are both showing 0%?

    Another big lump coming in off the Irish Sea. Looks better positioned for Birmingham area.

    Metcheck is showing a rain / sleet event for Sunday - or am I reading it incorrectly?
