Weird weather lately... It did snow last week but nothing of note...but we ve had 2 impressive hailstorms one last week which ended on some snow then an overhead crack of thunder...Following day 2 rumbles of thunder to the east.. And today very loud hailstorm big hailstones which hurt and impressive clouds and another overhead rumble of thunder nice...Ground is still extremely wet..after the very long wet spell since last july..

What does he know that you lot don t know.. He s into a far more interesting subject here.. One of 6 big earthquakes a couple of days ago atlantic..if we would get a tsunamia it would be from that major fault line..

A crunchy start to today snow crisp.. A little bit of snow in the shade will survive until the 4th.. Air frost again..

Addicks Fan 1981 March 1995 was very atlantic driven snowfall. 1998 we d had to skip to the very snowy april,march gave nothing or a blip of snow.. March 2007 gave a nice potent cold snap with some drifting snow.. There was snow in march 2016,but we ll skip to the latest april cold spell I ve known in april with snow and soft hail coverings lovely to see it was.. Then we ll skip to april 2019 which gave 3 inches of snow with some more drifting..so april looks likely then this year as last march gave the heaviest snowfall of last winter by far.. A modest march we are looking at going at this year,already had snow in 2024 march,who knows...

Its nice to see the snowline when the fog cleared.. Still sleet/snow patchy now came back... Frost tonight later...Coldest day since mid january..

Not much yesterday light snow/sleet didn t stick.. A nice snow shower later afternoon,looked very strange looking for snow showers coming from the south.. But today we have a covering of snow,started foggy at 1.9c and green now 1c..and white..

This CET has dropped alot since I last looked from 8.7c.. Been around 4 air frosts here..

On queue march is coming and the snow is arriving you couldn t make it up.. So march is coming in like lamb no wait a min a lion nope a snow leopard.. The beast from the east in 2018 that was the ultimate lion..

2 air frost on the trot at -1.2c east wind today for a nice change and dry..5.5c

LetItSnow! March has certainly broken the all time records upto Iinto THE BEAST FROM THE EAST and yes this looks like the summer chat and its still winter.. I ve been going through all my snow records from 1998 and March still comes out as snowiest month of them all.. And since 2012 march has simply thrashed all other months made them look small, poor ole november is pathetic..april thrashes november for snow..overall aswell.

Got a sprinkling of snow a few sleety snow showers today with hail.. Morning a band of heavy sleet..Floods again..but tonight could be interesting..

MP-R Well I ve had plenty of cold records since 2007 and I ve been recording temps since 1990.. As it just been snowing outside a squal came in sleet in NW hail/snow an 2.9c currently.. Climate change my backside they always use that phrase..

mountain shadow Yes very scary if this can happen frozen solid that quickly.. Today, temperatures in Xinjiang, China dropped 45 almost instantly to a low of -52? (-61.6?), kiIIing hundreds of waterfowl.

7c max for the bbc I find always feels really cold as its nowhere near that temperature..

Its becoming more unpredictable IMO.. One extreme to the other records are going right left and centre to record wet record cold to record warmth..record dry jettream is so unpredictable,one minute its flat next its gone round the bend looping crazy..

lassie23 Don t expect nothing november 1st.. End of november we mostly do see anything besides the atlantic.. An easterly in this case..

Downburst 2015/16 that happened here.. After the record breaking mild december.. January was much cooler 1.2c above average while february was cooler still at 0.7c above average.. March we had a few cold snaps snow it was cooler still at 0.5c below average.. Then april we had cold snaps some snow and a cold spell last week of the month soft hail covering snow showers.. 0.6c below the 1971 to 2000 average for april.. Winter was very slow to start that year..

Looking at the mildest winter on record which now is 2015/16 all because of that monstrous december the way those SSWls were angled you can see why.. For snow days falling.. Not surprising december 0.. January 6. Feb 4.. March 6..more snow depth in march.. April 7 days..with the deepest snow all spring..winter whatever..

Definately overdue a dry spell.. Last year second wettest year on record and its relentless all this rain this year apart from that very welcome cold dry spell mid january.. Last march was the wettest since 1981..
