  1. I'm in zonal weather heaven. I have had to wait since 1991 for weather train like this. Definately the turn of the mildies thus far this season. It's good weather for my spruce, pine and fir saplings. Keeps the heating bills way down too.
  2. I don't wish to be a killjoy but from what I'm seeing this evening, be prepared for a long ride of current pattern thru most of jan (don't ask for charts or data, I'm not allowed to post them here) after a relitive softening up of the vortex to mid next week, looks like re organising It's strength to the back end of next week somewhere between SE Greenland and south of west Icelandic waters with a strong but relitively flat azores ridging and rapidly collapsing eastward
  3. Missed out again today, max 49.8 mph....... Fish on! Better that cahsing snowflakes at T360 mind.
  4. Hi pit, as I said last week, I have the same issues with weak winds from E to SSW. Tend to be at least 25 mph below forecast. In the W you can add 20mph to gusts. Last week I got a random gust of 66.8 mph from SSE otherwise it was just low thirtys mph.
  5. I can't help but feel that many on here are dissapointed with this storm just passed (me included) All I will say is, for those who missed out, chin up, friday looks fab from the north mids northward. Our time is nearly here. I'm off for a whiskey or ten.... MERRRRRRY XMAS PEEPS XX

  10. Well after pressure stablised earlier It's now on the rapid descent again 971.7 It is nearly our turn for a blasting here in yorkshire. I'm getting inpatient now
  11. Hard to believe reading page 43 that theres two of the most serious storms in the relaiable for 20 years approaching. Did someone say it was going to snow?!!
  12. Well, i'm not out to bash but to most at first glance the meto warnings seem confusing at a glance. You need to read them several times before it sinks in. I then read the Netweather warnings, nothing sketchy here, easy to read, and comprehensive uk wide coverage of events. Well done Netweather and more especially Nick F
  13. I won't be satisfied til I get hurt, sorry, just the beast within me. I certainly wish no harm to others though.

  16. Yes crewe, like surprise snow events, the wind ones tend to pop up even more. Hey, I enjoyed that epic battle of words you had with JH in the model output thread the other day
  17. Bbc weather guy at 13:30 said there could be a period of severe gales tomorrow eve over west wales and northern england.
  18. Yaw, I have wondered into a thread with the word snow in it! I feel like a fish out of water. Precip about to begin here, but what will it be?! Giggerdy!
  19. Just had my first gust to 50mph from a SSE direction ever. Never had anything like it from the E or S.
