  1. Carrie Fisher now, this year is terrible for famous people losses.  We still have a few days left, who next, the Queen? :-(

It's the number of iconic figures that have died this year that's staggering.

Bowie, Prince, George Michael, Muhammad Ali, Fidel Castro, now Carrie Fisher. They all became iconic images.

Her husband may have frigged around with Lewinsky, but at least we won't have a compulsive tit groper as President of the United States!

I totally agree anyone but either of those.

  2. You're right, there is something serious going on and I don't like it either (as you know I voted for Brexit and am steadfast by my choice)

But Brexit was a symptom of the bigger issue, not a cause or something worse. We have been saying for years and years and years that uncontrolled immigration is 'bad'  and not because of racism , because it's daft to think you can ask people from a country you are at war with, or several, to come and integrate peacefully and without huge amounts of upset.

The whole of Europe is in turmoil now and it's not because of the nationalists or racists, it's because the governments of the continent have realised they have made one of the most stupid choices in recorded history.

It seems to me there is a blinkered elitism in society, and the people who preach it are the ones who are not suffering any ill effects from mass immigration like us poor people are.

all people want is to know that we have a safe country..... that's not what we have with mass immigration

I always think that London's opinion is null and void in the rest of the UK

Londoners have more experience with immigration than most of us - given it is by far the most multicultural city in the country and probably Europe. It also, historically, has some of the most poverty-stricken areas of the country. Interestingly enough though, many areas like Tower Hamlets and Hackney have become significantly less deprived as immigration has increased.

As a general rule, areas with higher immigration levels favoured Remain in the referendum - but not always, of course, but there is a strong correlation.
